we balance them every charge, but it's a precautionary measure--i've heard of the same discharge cycle (every week) that we used on the NIMH but I don't subscribe to it, the funny thing is (but don't do it) is you don't need a different charger, you just have to know when tp shut down ( at 8.40 v) if you cross that threshold you have a situation similar to a magnesium/
phospherous fire, and its bad news--it's kinda like a propane tank for your backyard grill is only
safely filled at 85%, go beyond and you risk a blethin, or boiling of the propane--same result with lipo, just different catalyst--just follow insturctions and you'll love em'

Hi Joe, will be nice to see some pics. Always had a soft spot for the Monster Beetle - so much fun to rip around!!

(RegHammer - regarding the Lipos I also have no idea about them, maybe its time for a sticky in the general forum?)

Thanks for the advice on the batteries. I just bought some 1800 mah NiCD for the kids to bum around with since they were only $13 at my local hobby shop.

I just got my Hunter and Lunchbox rolling so that was pretty cool. The Porsche 959 looks to only need a radio so that migkht be next. The Hornet needs a speed control and a few other parts whole the Beetle has a broken steering component.

fakiee, I'll get some pix on here soon. I have some old ones kicking around where I was jumping over some cars with my Hornet back in the day. I always liked the Beetle as well... it was a lot of fun.
