I believe he has had some health issues in the past few years, and has retired.

I have a small selection of Reedy motors and wanted to seek out what it is I actualy have here.

1. Blue Dot
2.Yellow Dot
3. ?? Dot (12x2)
4 Gold Star

Image

Would like to know what colour dot the 12x2 would have been plus what all motors would have been used in back in the day- ie: 2WD Off road, 4WD Off Road etc..

Any help would be appreciated

Cool.

I'll drop the yellow dot back into my 89' WORLDS Topcat shelfer, the 2 blue Dots into my Procats and the Gold Star into a Masami tribute Dog Fighter (one day).

Easy peezy. Thanks again for the help.

Thread to keep windings in place, and spec written in pen - it's "the enforcer" :D

If i dont remember wrong there where like four/five different winds avaliable in the late 80´s.

Was there an advert specifically for these? I was always under the impression the Schumacher team versions were particularly rare as they never come up for sale and not many people seen to know what they are.

I ordered a Reedy Silver Dot 21 Double BITD and this is what turned up. It was mega in my 2wd and recorded our highest ever top speed on our Shinwa rolling road.

Anybody know what the colour change on the labels signifies, if anything? I had Red, Yellow and Pink Dots (from memory) so these must be two of those. Dots have all come off though, sadly. Just wondering why one looks yellowish and the other greenish?

Friend of mine just posted this up for me on another site. Ad from late '86 - early '87 only, before being replaced by 'normal' Reedy mods.

Yellow labeled cans seems to have been used for on-road motors.

Also, not all Reedy Mods used dots, and dots from different generations don't necessarily mean the same winds/turns. Typically Reedy wrote the motor specs on the armatures...but, then again, since swapping arms was pretty common that arm might not be an original. Really, unless motors come NIP w/header cards, there's no being 100% sure of what it is. :x

I had all of mine from new and never swapped them out. Just lost the dots and can't remember which was which. I need to strip them and have a look by the sounds of it.
