i had 2 stampedes the old 1 seen in the pic of me jumping off the wood ramp on my parents roof (about 10 years ago) my friend still has ..my new stampede is 1/8 scale now with an hpi jeep body (need to use 1/2 inch plastic spacers on rear bodymount to move it back) i cut the chassis in half and used 2 aluminum angle irons and 8 nuts and bolts, put a piece of plastic down the center used a strap to hold the battery in and some black electrical tape to make the electronics neat ) 2.2 wheels and sledgehammer tires. converted the wheels to the big bearings that come in the brushless trucks .rebuilt the trans and i think im on my 4th spur(destroyed them jumping) kept all stock electronics, xl5 and 550 12 turn are great ive run 9 nimh cells wired in series. this makes the truck really fast but you have to be carefull with all that extra weight and power any crash seems to break something...but now that its all rebuilt im going to take it easy..
