Your Baja absolutely rocks!

I see we have a similar taste in regards to what a state of the art Baja should look like.

I think that's about 95% of the style I was shooting for.

I love the Sand Scorcher as much as any real RC nut (if not more), but I think technology in suspension, safety, and performance has progressed quite a bit on the real deal since 1978. I just want to build something reasonablly similar to current stuff.

This one won't be just another S.S. carbon copy or tribute project.

Trimmed a little more lexan
Ft bumper corners to be cut, trimmed and painted to resemble Baja front
Roof rack mounts to be modified to fit contour of roof
Ft rims yet to be narrowed
Driving lights & turn signals to be mounted to ft bumper
Decals trimmed and ready for body
Awaiting paint.....

I hope to update my Ultima project shortly.

It looks like there's quite a few of us who like the look and who have been doing this quite awhile.

I've viewed countless conversions from shortened RC10's to Ultima's, to the Grandaddy Tamiya and everything in between.

I think it's time to start a RC Baja/VW forum!

Bumper has been modified, I hope to have the roof rack mounted & the body painted this weekend.

I really like that wide eye body!!!!!!

Thanks, it's one of those bodies that has served a few too many projects already, and is on its way to the next one already again.

I think I'm going to try a dark mat gray on the outside and white pinstripes, maybe some psycho-billy decals too to cover the many holes. Going for a rat look this time
Sofar it has belt drive, shortened wheelbase, HPI RS-4 arms, kyosho tf-1 dogbones, grasshopper wheels and tires and (mostly) tamiya composed short shocks.

Fresh out of the "paint shop".

I hope to finish up the details soon...
