Good stuff!
Any NIP belts from Losi will all be dry rotted, or seriously weakened, by now, the Tough Racing belts have never let me down.
Never snapped one of them.
I wonder if the alloy pulley set for the 22-4 would fit?
I've been putting of buying one for my 22-4, because of the price and other parts taking priority, but when I buy one, I'll check if it fits in my XX-4 for sure.

I have 3 races done with NIP green belts with no issues. But it was on dirt with not much traction. This weekend it will be on astro so that will be big stress for drive train. We will see. In case I have new set of Tough racing belt prepared.

So good to see people still racing XX-4's and being competitive, too!
I'm sure there are still origional belts out there that are fine, but I wouldn't trust them over the Tough Racing ones, especially if I were racing it.
I've got the body looking on point on my early XX4, but I need a few parts to get it 100% correct-shock towers etc.
Need to lose the green springs, too. All I have are green front springs, everywhere.

I've had that in my mind for over a decade, the right donor XX4 showed up, busted up chassis, so nothing to lose by trying it. Feels fantastic too...I did a build thread in here.

Anybody doing anything interesting with their XX4's lately?
Mine was on rails at Vonats. But I forgot how the rear shock tower separates at the shock mounting holes, and it failed on the first jump in the main, DNF.
A friend loaned me a XXX4 to play with. I'll work on it a bit and see how competitive it will be.

The XXX4s were good on smooth tracks, but even a box stock XX4 will nail it on looser, bumpier tracks.
The XXX-4 diffs are too high and there isn't a way to adjust them.
Seem to work well on the XXXS, but they're only run on smooth surfaces, so they're fine.

Anybody out there occasionally club race their XX4?
I've been running my XX4 at my local indoor astroturf track occasionally. I'm getting close to a great setup.

I pulled the shocks off my 22-4 and bolted them on my XX-4 WE for s#*ts and giggles, didn't take any photos, unfortunately.
Bolted right up, pretty much.
I could bolt them back on and take some photos, if you really need them?
I can use shocks from a 22-4, or a Ten SCTE 3.0 on either an early XX-4, or a World's Edition.
You choose.
IMHO, the XX4 can still be successfully raced still be very competitive.
You have to out build, out tune and out drive your competition, as always, but the XX4 will get you there.
And winning with a car that's decades old always just ruins the competition!
I love my 22-4, too, it warmed my heart when that car was released and I got mine.
Seeing TLR going to a shaft drive 'wheeler made my heart sink.
I won't be buying one anytime, period.
Belt drive cars just feel better!
