JAN 2022 BOTMC is looking like it's gonna be totally rad!!

Can't wait to see the "rides"!!!!

That makes me think back...one of the coolest things in RCCA bitd was (totally before the ability to search the internet for "cool RC car pics") was the Reader's Rides pages!! The BOTMC is like waiting for the new issue to see the Reader's Rides. Anyhow, happy new year.

Any way to keep the tally total completely private until the contest is over. I’ve noticed if I check the site before I’m logged in I can see the votes before I submit my vote.

I’m not trying to say that’s how everyone or anyone votes, I’d like to think everyone would definitely vote for the car they truly like the best. Sometimes when there’s a close battle I don’t want someone to think, “I’ll vote for this person so the battle will be closer”.

Just an idea.

Keeping the tally private until the end of the contest is good idea. It will definitely keep people for voting for the best car they like rather than try to even out a close race.

On the other hand...there is that excitement you get when you see the numbers change and you see who is getting ahead...or who is making a comeback from the rear...much like watching a horse race at a betting track....

"Here comes the dark horse Harmony Grits Lamborghini out of the blue...shes gaining momentum and hands down has become the front runner...shes coming into the Home stretch for the win..."

So when I access the BOTMC (signed in) before I vote, all I see are entrants listed at the top with a "radio button" next to each. Then below that is a "veiw results" option and a "submit vote" option. Sometimes I vote first and then look sometimes I "peek" to see who's who/what's what with the vote count first. I guess it just depends. But if I am worried about biasing my vote, I have the capability to not peek. I've done it both/either way many times.

What the hell am I trying to say here.....

I guess if you like surprises, you can do that. If you want to tip it one way for someone or try to level it out/tie it up, you can do that as well. It's just one of the things about the BOTMC. Nothings perfect. I totally understand where everyone is coming from though at the same time. I guess I've been back and forth on the question so much that I've just accepted the format. Mostly just to stop the voices in my head. Ha ha.....ha.

Its nice to be able to see the votes at least after you have voted , I like seeing the votes come in as the month goes on .

I'm always confused by this so I thought I should ask. Which is the preferred BOTM instruction? Wait for the 7th or wait for the admin direction to upload pics? I know the entry period gets stretched to allow more entries (more entries = more goodness)

"DO NOT POST ANY PICS. You have until the 5th of the month to lock in a spot (10 entries max). You will then have 2 days to edit your post and attach the pics of your entry. The poll will be started on the night of the 7th. If you have not submitted your pics by then you will be removed from the contest"

"DO NOT UPLOAD ANY PICS UNTIL AN ADMIN SAYS TO DO SO! If you want to enter the contest, simply make a post saying you are in for that month."
