I do the like the interior plate, but the driver seat placement makes the driver need to be angled, or sitting very low.
Looks really low from the side, like he can barely see over the wheel.
Might have to use a different driver-body, or do away with the interior plate if I can't get the driver to look boxart height in there.
The interior plate is not anchored to the body or chassis, it's held in there by being trapped in between.

Got the driver height corrected.
Despite the helmet, without any iris or pupils painted on, he's merely Born to be Mild. I'll get better at painting eyes someday and fix that.
Didn't add a 3D printed engine or passengers, left the US taillight specs instead of boxart orange, red, red.
Best I can do, or perfectly imperfect.
Calling this one done. Really happy to join the boxart Sand Scorcher owners, this was the one that made me want a RC car in the very first place.
Thanks to those that helped, and to anyone else for following along with the build.

Yes-sir, looks fantastic!! Every RC collection needs at least one Scorcher and yours is perfect.
BTW, considering the era this car came from, maybe your driver would be sitting on a stack of phone books?

Very kind of you to say, thank you sir! The camera seems to be hiding some of the lesser details
The driver is sitting on the top of a broken 3D print VW motor fan shroud, that looked exactly like those booster chairs I had to sit in as a kid
