Thanks...that looks about right. Did some searching and looks like it was sold here in the US by Global Hobbies/XTM as the Baja Blade and Outlaw.

AYK Viper? I'm not sure...

Not as many people know about the "shopgoodwill" site as do ebay, but lately R/C stuff has been going for way too high numbers on there. I pulled some gems off there back in the day before it was as well known. I think the link is a Viper, but I could be wrong. The $ it's at already is crazy though given the site its on.

Looks like a Viper to me. Pricing on them tends to get a little crazy!

I got this one cleaned up and found a few oddities with it. Did CC ever change the steering arrangement? This one puts the bellcranks way out at the edge. The countersunk holes look proper also, not countersunk with a drill bit or 82degree bit like most home jobs would be.
Anyone know why they would have done this?

factory, aftermarket, or home made? This came off the SRB I got the other day.

It wouldn't surprise me if it came from the slot car industry. They had some interesting heat sinks

Hmm... you could be right! I didn't even think of that.

It's closer to the pivot point

I think they put wide kickup bellcrank holes in a standard kickup chassis...... by accident..... maybe. I don't think that's the only one I've seen like it though.

Yep, x3 on the slot car reference. Looks like pretty much all Parma...

Someone had it rigged up as the manual speed control resistor on the SRB
Maybe I'll reuse it on the car I'm building from all junky parts

it would definitely work for a 'cheap buck build' situation

Who used plastic ends on their dog bones? Might be tough to figure out what exactly they fit.

I ended up with a worn set similar to those for the Optima (62.5mm from pin-to-pin), but the balls were green. But the real question is, did they ever make blue balls?
