Hi Jason

Well, don't worry I'm not retiring the Procat... ever

I just got a second hand Kyosho FS2, which should be more competitive. I did look at the SX3 but there's a lot of FS2 at Stotfold and my mate is also getting one.

In an attempt to get the car handling better over smaller bumps at high speed, I changed the rear damper settings from 2x1.4mm diameter piston holes 27.5wt oil to 2x1.45 dia. holes and 30wt oil. I also changed the pink Losi springs (2.3 lb/in) to yellow Schumacher springs (2.0 lb/in).

I also refitted the undertray with less foam, sealing it up with a little silicone sealant like before. This gives a bit more ground clearance at the back, which should help with bump handling. Top tip: I found that instead of the using the nozzle that comes with the silicone sealant, which inevitably gets clogged up with dried sealant, squeeze some sealant into a clear plastic bag, snip off a tiny corner and pretend you're icing cakes! That's also how I applied the TF2 grease to the bearings...

I seriously admire your unflinching devotion to your Procat. It seriously is the most loved, refined, raced, modified and special vintage racer the world over. Seeing your posts always brings a smile to my face.
Thanks for sharing all your mods with this car, it will no doubt make things a little easier for anyone wanting to run an old Schuey 4WD.
