Hi RJ,

No Mate,

The Corolla is my shopping trolley, the one I cart my dogs in to the beach.

Just lately, the council said they were going to fine me,

for taking a commercial quantity of sand home from the beach, on the back seat of the car.

Bloody Dogs!

Anyway, I am planning of getting a GSXR1000 about a 2001 model.

There was one on Gumtree that had some mods, but I didn't have the money.

Should be good for 320 kph or 200 mph for our American friends.

Just have to keep the dream going and save some more money.

It may not happen this year or the next,

but it will happen!

I have run a flat 11, on my old 750, with consistent 11.2's and 11.3's

Man I was so close to running a 10.

Not as fast as some street bikes, but I had a lot less invested as some other bikes I raced.

When you catch up, I will show you the timing slips and the trophy for second, Coca Cola street meet.

Heads up racing.

:)

At least I got the splash sheilds, spring saddles and pinion snubber cleaned up today the slow way with a wire wheel. I decided I'm going to POR15 everything so it's impervious to rust, stone chips and oils. I was supposed to clean the shackles too but forgot.

I'm not sure if I can use the pinion snubber as there is already a snubber that bolts to the chassis. I'm hoping both line up and have enough clearance between the two, then I can make adjustable bolt on snubber plates.

No not in yet. I could just slap it in but want to do it right. Prep and paint everything properly, new stainless hard lines, new rubber hoses, new U bolts and bushes etc. Probably gonna be another 1k to finish it up.

Slowly getting closer, been cash strapped for the last couple of months so progress has been slooooowwwww.

At least I'm making some headway, I've got all the new bushings and hoses to rebuild the rear suspension. I've also finally managed to strip all the paint and clean up the rear end and all associated suspension parts except the springs. Once everything is painted in POR-15 things can start to get assembled. POR-15 stands for Paint Over Rust, I couldn't bring myself to paint rusty parts so I had to clean everything properly down to bare metal, not a fun job......

All that's really left to do is make up some new stainless hard lines, clean up the springs and have the calipers rebuilt. Calipers will cost roughly $600 :(

Rear end is going to be a solid piece when you're done. Better to do it right the first time.

I hope it's all worth it as it was a much bigger project then I thought.

I would love to get a stock set of wheels, factory mud flaps, venetian blind and hood ornimate for that stock grandpa look.

I finally got some paint on this today, the POR-15 is interesting stuff, much thinner then I thought and a little goes a long way. It also goes off quicker then I thought too. The prep work really sucked and it looked horrible before paint.

Still one more coat to go in a couple of hours. The first coat came out great.

It will look even better when I put the new hardware on it and some stainless lines etc. I should paint the center carrier silver to give it a bit more of a performance look.

It's not the size that matters, it's how you use it. I take it Todd is pretty rough with his as he's breaking stuff with it

Here is my other car with the same width axle and how much more room I still have with a 245/50R14 tire on a 7" rim.
