I also have another sample part ready, in case there's another person willing to preorder.

Ok i ran 5 packs through the trans ,on the truck slipper tight ish
on around the 5th pack the lower motor screw dropped out twice once is i messed up but after another five mins same thing .
as i have never had to thread lock a metric motor screw before i stripped it down to find the bearings took a dump. ( they were new blue rubber sealed ) so rebuild tonight i have oem unsealed that came with gt trans this time plus a different set of gears .Good condition used .
i hate to make any calls on the bearing tolerances ,so this time i will mark both main bearing shells on one side to see if there was any slippage, as it looks like one of the sealed bearings might have rotated weather before or after they failed is the question

The small chunks of Delrin came in Tuesday, I'll be doing a prototype or two Tomorrow. If they machine better than aluminum (no chatter, etc, which I think will be the case), I'll make the Delrin run first.
A lot of things are coming together right now, life feels good.

Hey Walt good to here
How much are the small chucks ? do you want to sell me another proto ? same resell rule

which wont happen LOL as i love the alloy one .
should work out nice ill send the alloy one back for your inspection including all the moving parts used, . i would think the delrin would be far more forgiving on the press fit tolerances than the alloy .but im sure with the nicely rising numbers in the BST you will be ready to put this to bed .
let me know and ill adjust the total for the remainder owed .
i have had no problems since i changed to regular unsealed bearings i used a couple of tiny tooth pick tip blobs of threadlock

on the main bearings only
SO lol now i want to do the sealed again

with the thread lock blobs.
i like the sand and sea always been round it ,so sealed is the way really .
regards Paul

I found the problem...
The bearing bores on the housing that you got were .0015 over instead of .0005 over... Didn't catch it because I never threw it on the CMM to verify...
It's been rectified.

And another double-post...
Delrin will be the first production run, it's machining perfectly.
Also plopped down for another 3 flute endmill in 1/8", this one with a TiCN coating, supposedly better than TiN for aluminum.
It's also going to be here Friday afternoon instead of the middle of next month...

Triple post...
Original housing weight is 16.79g
Delrin is 18.53g with the dowels (I didn't think to weigh just the dowels... forgive me...)
I'll be sending this one out to be torture-tested, once everything is known to be good, it'll be production run of the remaining Delrin stock.
