Hi. That looks like a really nice esc. Perhaps, for the benefit of those like myself who unfortunately have been away from RC for the last 20 odd years, could you please give us a brief tour and a history lesson? What makes this esc so desirable? thanks very much.

Well, it's the ESC that Mark Pavidis used in his 95 Yokomo YZ-10 Championship car and it is getting pretty rare at least the ICS is there are lots of other LRP ESC's like the IPS and AI but this one seems to be rarer and will eventually grace my Pavidis Champ car replica.

Okay, cool, thanks. I totally missed the whole LRP era. Thanks for the information. Cheers!

I got this radical 6-gear tranny brace, custom made by Factory Works. I sent my specs to Jeff, he helped with the radius to make it look better than my drawing. Thanks Jeff!

Very nice and the arcs appear to coordinate with the chassis plate as well. Good job!

Not vintage, but this came today. My b44.3 is getting pretty wore out, would cost a lot to properly rebuild it and, frankly, it's not that great of a car anyway. This is it's replacement.

I've probably got it about a third built... the quality is so much higher than my b44.3 it's not even funny.

Couple more interesting bits and bobs that arrived today - a Parma Yokomo Stock "ORRCA Approved" motor, and one of my long-term holy grails, a Century Systems OZIFET speed control!!!
Image

First, the motor.... can't say I've ever seen one of thses, although maybe it was a racing-only motor? The ORRCA are one of the governing bodies of RC racing in Australia, and have been around for years. Motor itself seems to be in nice condition, chrome label is still very shiny

Now, the ESC... I had one of these in my PB Mini Mustang years and years ago, and have been looking for one to recreate my old buggy for probably ten years. This one popped up on eBay in a fairly rare 1:12 chassis, but I wasn't able to pick it up at the time. Luckily, it was won buy another Aussie, who put details of it up on TamiyaClub. Few e-mails back and forth, a trade was sorted, and here it is! Just hope it works!!!!

Good week for me   :P

Not so much what I got in the box, but the box itself. Someone either had a surplus of 'forever' stamps to burn, or they really, really, really, like collecting JFK stamps

We choose to ship packages with many many postage stamps in this decade and do the other things, not because it is easy, but because it is hard :)

I've had similar postage here in Australia... I think it comes about (here at least) due to the bottom falling out of the stamp collecting market, at least for Decimal Era (1966+) unused stamps - people buy up collections of these 'worthless' unused stamps, then use them to post eBay items. For example, if you spend $10 on a stamp collection that has 100 run-of-the-mill 25c stamps (stamps that have no collector value) in it, you can still use the stamps for their face value, thus saving yourself $15.

Of course, it can take quite a few of these stamps to make it up to today's postage prices..... thus, what duckhead has experienced
