Steering kit?

The nose brace tubes are different, might just been trimmed and polished. There is something going on with the battery mounts, cams or something, but I don't know if those are existing parts of not. The steering looks like the Associated World's setup.

The steering in the car is the soon to be released AE kit.
The battery thumbscrews are the existing B4 parts.

Those nose tubes do look a little different.....
Wing things??? Hmmm....

Its out now, I should be getting mine from Tower in the next couple days.

Let JC/Jason know, this car is screaming for an aftermarket transmission. Thinking re-hash of the Team Pit Stop chain drive?

Everything thing I have seen so far is awesome. Cant wait till my wallet can get them onto my workbench.

Get those tires/wheels OUT NOW!

b4 retro gearcase! There are two others that have mentioned it, one seems to have become vaporware and the other is..? Don't worry about the gears inside just make the adapter transmission case!... Bonus points if it bolts in like a 6 gear and not a stealth ;)

First person to get that case available will likely not be able to keep up with orders, it would be like molding $$$.

No kidding. They probably could make it bolt in either 6 gear or stealth. Now that's printing money.

They only really need to make it fit the 6 gear mounting holes really, even if they are not countersunk, all stock associated off road chassis up but not including the b/t2 still had the 6 gear mounting holes I believe. But not all of them had stealth mounting holes. And to be sly... You could butt it up to the back of the rear bulkhead and use longer screws in the top shock tower mounting positions and eliminate the tranny brace all together. Two screws from the bottom and two through the rear bulkhead = secure and less hardware that 4 from the bottom and 4 from the top with 4 washers and a brace plate.

I do have to say, if they are making a stealth in the near future...why bother with a conversion box?
48p conversion would make more sense to me-

I know a lot of other things have come up, but I'll happily admit that the body has definitely grown on me the more I review this thread. At first it seemed so bulky and cumbersome (which mimic my wife's words on our honeymoon.  ), but it definitely has it's charm. Hope it's doing well, as I do all the other products that reach a welcome market. :D

I saw the body in hand today, it looks better than how it's been photographed for sales. I agree with most who say the cab should've been laid back a bit however, I still plan to purchase a few for runners and paint them as sand rail looking bodies 8) Has anyone fitted a new driver in there to see how it fits?

x2. For unboosted, 17.5 (and short arms 8) ), a 6 gear with 48p in there is like butter (and those thorp sets are now WAY more inflated on the bay than any CE stealth case). The FDR ratio of the 6 gear is a bonus, as you don't have the need to slap on the giant pinion. NSN - no slipper necessary 8)

I agree with staying more period correct with any tranny hop up. Until you want to go the full nine with CE front arms, 2.2 wheels and motors quicker than 17.5 where a slipper and the more modern drive ratios start to make sense, to me anyway.

The driver figure does not fit in the Detonator body. The cab area is too narrow.

Next weekend Jason will be running his classic at the final round of the Supercup series. This will be the first test for the tires and wheels. It will also test a tentative rules package we are considering for adding a classic class to our race series events. This even includes a spec gear ratio!

I see some of you guys acknowledging that the body has grown on you. That's great! In the end it still won't be for some guys, and that's ok. If you get the opportunity to see one in person I believe you will like it even more than the pictures. I'm pretty sure the ones that dislike it will at least dislike it a little less.

We should be within a month or so for some more releases. Keep your fingers crossed!
