Hey folks, I'm John...

I'm currently working as an IT Security Engineer for a healthcare company in St. Paul, MN.

Certified SCUBA diver & own two motorcycles, a 2005 Honda Shadow 750 and 1999 Honda Valkyrie Interstate. I also own a Fiat 500 (2012), Ford Econoline Pickup (1965 - hot rod), and a 1961 big block Ford Galaxie.

So what else would I need, living in a city that experiences 7 months of winter, but yet another fair-weather hobby? Why didn't I just pick-up snowmobiling???

Well, it's been 6 years since I have been here so I will re-introduce myself for those who have not met me. My name is Kevin, I am 41 years old and live in Southport NC. 4 kids now apposed to the 2 I had when I first posted on this forum. Still in IT, still at the college. And I am pretty much cleaning out my RC stuff. But this is something that is constantly revolving. I would say evolving but I find myself going back to the oldies all the time. So I am looking to get in to on-road as my living situation has me on paved roads everywhere. At any rate, glad to be back and hope I can contribute :-)

Rav, medical professional.

On a nostalgic journey to find and collect buggies that I wish I had as a young kid, just loved that era from 1987-1995 of off-road.

Adam, 31, Geologist

I was given my older brother's Panda Buggy in 1989 when he received a team associated RC10 for Christmas. My maiden run went head-on with him in the street and turned the panda into dust. From then on all I ever wanted was a team associated RC10. :D

Here I am in a 1:1. A 2008 Sand Tech Motorsports LS long travel

Hi, im newer to this website. My name is Jared, Im 16 (IM THE YOUNGEST ON THS CHAT NOW! HAHAH) anyway, I live in North Carolina and At the moment unemployed.... cause the move and stuff.... ANYWAY, been hooked on the RC hobby for 3 years now. Started with Model Rockets. I went to a hobby shop and they said they didnt sell them anymore cause kids were getting them for the wrong reason. So, my dad and i went to the back and saw this huge offroad rc track with many people practicing. a guy came up to use and we talked and what not. After a year of looking at the rc cars, a friend of my dad gives us a 10 year old HPI Nitro truck.. all in all, motor was bad. after months over looking at a traxxas Rustler, i got it for birthday, and that car has started it. raced it, break it. and then got my RTR B4.2 for a year with it I upgraded and now its a worlds Kit B4.2 I stillhave it. Racing became addiction and still is. I hope to never loose the feeling you get when youre racing and start being told your in 1st 2nd or 3rd and make the A. love the adrenaline. Also, im about to get my first car,
1986 DODGE DAYTONA TURBO Z AUTO. Love those cars.
ill end with this, I hope to become a mechanical engineer and robotics engineer, graphics desginer. Sooo, yeah. Thanks for reading!

Welcome to the forum, Jared! Ahh, the Iacocca-era Daytonas...I remember those well. That (and it's Chrysler Laser sibling) was quite the performance car for the day (bearing in mind the mid-80's were not great for performance, haha!)...and the computer technology/dash electronics were very high-tech at the time. Here's a nice write-up on the Daytona:

You sure don't see many of those left. Still a pretty good-looking car. Show us some pics when buy the Daytona. :)

I'm Martin, from the UK. Geologist/geophysicist, 42. I was lucky enough to find a much younger model who stupidly agreed to marry me 3 years ago, and we now have an 18month old daughter.

Current hobbies include snowboarding (instructor), fanatical 80's BMX collector, and the female anatomy in general.

I got into RC in around '87 and messed around in the street with a few cars before discovering a local club and taking up racing. It got serious pretty quickly and we ended up touring the UK, Nationals and doing pretty well - made a few magazines in the '91 season. I saw my old race cars for the first time in 20odd years last week and am hooked again. Curious to see the size of the hobby and looking forward to building a few more cars and hopefully getting my old favorites up and running again. My old cars were heavily modified purely for racing so it is interesting for me to see the box-perfect builds being posted on here.
