Look at touring cars in the HPI catalogs for different lengths of dogbones. The ballsize is the same as your stock ultima dogbone ball end.
The asso stuff is larger and doesn't fit the drive cups and xle cups

I think I've got the rear end sorted out...narrowed by about 2" or so.
Dual sport rear arms are nearly perfect!....even room for wheel base adjustment w/Kyosho hubs!

More recycled goodies that may wind up on the project.
Ex trash can ready Triumph motor guard w/about 3 hours of work. (so far)
Old aftermarket front Frog shocks I've had sitting around for a decade or so..(these may wind up on the front end if I don't find the stock 'Scorcher fronts soon. (or use the Platinums..)

Filling a zillion unnecessary holes w/5 minute (sandable) epoxy:

More body work...
Let another coat set up another 16 hours or so..
I love this epoxy stuff..sands easily.
The opposite side of the chassis will be simple to clean up, the epoxy fills the holes & almost looks like plastic plug welds.

Looks good. I need to do this to one f my chassis, are you planning on coating it after sanding? If so what will you use?
Let us know how it works out.
thanks

Thanks.
When everything is filled and double checked, I may prime it and block it out one last time before painting it.
I'm leaning towards a thin coat of black spray-on truck bed liner coating on this one (on the bottom half). I think it will be perfect for a potential runner.
I was checking out Rizzo's latest Sand Scorcher post and noted how cool the polished FT suspension arms looked...I plan on doing something very similar:

I've got a buddy w/an HPI touring car, I may ask him if I can check the dog bone sizes.
I have a bunch of old Ultima dog bones and can sacrifice a couple if the HPI's don't work.
I'll try the cut & sleeve/epoxy on the Ultima bones if the RS4's don't fit.

Wow, that is some serious ingenuity going on! Very cool and I will now be following yet another awesome build.

diggley, by any chance did you piece this chassis together. just asking because of the what you've done here, and wondering who put work into this chassis.

That set up isn't one of mine.
I started this build because the two chassis' I had were both already cut up by a previous owner. They were just taking up space in my RC parts collection. Neither was good for anything else, & both were beyond the point of any kind restoration.
I wouldn't cut up any restorable classics, it's not my thing.

Thanks,
I wouldn't expect this one to be done for at least a month or so. I'm still trying find the body I plan on using.
