Awesome builds fellas.

Lexus-5: Thanks for starting this thread. Its good inspiration to start on a silver chassis I got from Lowerydesign awhile back.

SofaKing: Build that sucker. Nice combination of blue anno parts. :D

Brian is absolutely correct, I just started wrenching on this Friday night.

Here's what I've got so far.

I know it's not much but I'm super critical (insert OCD here) when I assemble these so it probably takes me three times as long as it would anyone else  . I've got a brand new six gear case one the way for the 48 pitch gear set but I think I might put these in before it gets here.

Thanks,

Wouldn't it be nice if there was some sort of metal chassis like that available for vintage racers?

I have a black sassy chassis that I haven't built and it will probably stay in the bag as I like to drive my buggies.

Here is my current sassy runner... I have a better speedo now that traxxas is dead. Bumber is gone too...

That blue chassis is dead cool by the way!

I was able to work on this a bit over the weekend and got the front end dialed in.

I have a question though, did any of you that have one these chassis' run into a problem with the mounting holes for the battery cup being off? For some reason on this one battery cup the holes are at least 1/8 of an inch off.

Thanks,
Dave

I really, really love this build--my only problem is that I don't have those RCPS links, NIP old RPM ball cups, and another NIP worlds bellcrank set!--Super sharp car!--what are you planning on for wheels and tires?

First off thanks for the compliment on the build. As far as wheels go I'm planning on using white HPI stars with TQ21's in the rear and Pro-line 8115 quatro re-enforced rib fronts (there in a pic somewhere on the first page).

Cool tire and wheel choice! I'm surprised that you're not going with the TQ71 3 rib front-

why do you taunt me with that pic?

I originally wanted to but I don't have any NIP :(. Although there is a pair on the bay right now that's ending soon so you never know!

I always thought those links were RCPS as well then I got a hold of these. I guess I snapped a pic before I cut into them just for future reference. No taunting intended

 Everyone else picks on me, you might as well start! I have seen early lunsfords as well and they look identical to the RCPS, but I guess it was easiest to lathe some hex stock! And I have a not NIP but super sharp set of the TQ71 if you can't dig up a NIP pair and decide to go that route after all

You don't say, well considering what prices on the bay have been like lately I may have to take you up on that offer. I'll keep you posted.
Thanks,
Dave
