I think this design will be perfect for a monster truck/Monster Beetle inspired build.
Rough cut/body mock up:

Lost interest during the summer, time to start working on the R/C stuff again..
Did some rough mods to the bumper..a little Foose inspired detail.
(narrowed, pulled back tighter to the body, added RPM fog lamps..)
Now to clean it up a little..paint, etc.

"IT'S ALIVE!"
Passed on the idea of modding the old Futaba gear.. (FP-R2GS receiver & FP-S28 servos) Found trusty 148 & newer reciever to avoid any potential hassle.
Whew, but she's slooooooooow for my taste.
Trans is smooth as butter, no problems.
Hopefully it was just the old battery on it's last legs...

The Bugfoot's got new sneakers and bumper is almost finished!...
Had a better idea for the bumper....Recycled a Slash bumper I decided not to use on another project...I like!
I think it gives it sort of an old school VW bumper/Terminator look..

Mate that is THE BEST good luck story. It looks brand new after you restored it.
Cant wait to see it painted up. Well Done.

Yay eBay!
Finally!...(and I didn't have to give an arm & leg for it...)
I'll add new bumper pics after it gets a shot of color.
..also have an idea for the paint job, since it vaguely reminds me of one of my favorite bands..:

I love those wheels, Diggley. I saw those on Tower Hobbies & eBay, I just wish they made a size that wasn't only suitable for monster trucks. I wish I could find a set of those that would fit a '69 Charger body I'll be painting sometime this winter.

Thanks, but those are too small for those vintage bodies; they're only meant to fit HPI's bodies and require special matching tires. What I would need are wheels that are 2 - 2.2" diameter, and about 35 to 37mm wide.

You could always use a set with a couple pairs of low profile Proline Strikers as scale 22"s..
I've got a set of those HPI's ("Torque Thrust" types) on my Tamiya Bug...They look great on everything!..but by the time you buy the special tires, they get a little pricey..
I'm still waiting for someone to finally produce a 68' (Mustang) fastback body so I can get my "Bullitt" project on..those HPI's would be perfect with a little paint!

Thanks Diggley, but you linked the exact same wheels that 8rad did.

Those wheels and tires only work with the tiny wheel-wells of the HPI Vintage Series bodies. I would need something with a much bigger diameter to work with an old Parma '69 Charger body, which has much larger wheel-wells. I need tires with a diameter of 80 - 90mm diameter approximately, to fit wheels with 2 - 2.2" diameter. HPI's 5-Star wheels are almost perfect size and I already have a set of 4 setup for that body, but I prefer the wheel design of those monster-truck wheels. They're just way too wide.

Whoops..
I forgot, you already have a set on the 'Cuda...
I can't wait to see the Charger project, 'Cyanide is still one of my favorites!

Thank you! Well, I'll simply plan to mount the Parma Charger body on the CYANide chassis with bigger HPI 5-Star wheels and CustomWorks on-road tires. I want to paint the body kind of how I want to eventually paint the 1:1 Charger--though the Parma's a '69 and the 1:1 is a '70. The front end is quite different between the two.
You've done a great job resurrecting this Blackfoot, saving it from a landfill or recycle center!
