The Robinson parts are hit and miss. The concentricity of the parts can vary greatly from batch to batch. I have seen parts like this go from binding on one side of the rotation, to barelly engaging on the other side. If you get a good set, then they are great. But you might have to go through a few sets to find a good pair. I used to have a box full of these gears. Eventually, what I started doing was to use molded 48 pitch spurs from 12th scale cars, and with a little modification, you can make them fit as a replacement on the "cluster gear". -Jeff

For my optima, I raided the gearbox of an Ultima Pro for its' Hard anodized top gear, and also for its' external spur gear. The spur gear is 0.6 module, and the rear smaller gear is steel.

Also running the Turbo Optima slipper gear, though really it is pretty archaic in the way it adjusts. It has a belt drive conversion, and a one-way front diff. Just left a gear diff in the rear for simplicity and to reduce maintenance.

I've run it with an old Novak SS5800 brushless system (8.5T) and the drive train handles it fine.

I will check them out, i'm an engineer so will be able to set them up and clock their concentricity. I also have a load of NIP spurs for them anyway , will report back.

Same here, but my main issue for me is the white gear; because I the only gear I have one of those. And of course that one is off-center too. :(

Yeah, that is where the biggest problem is usually found. :(

What I wanna know: How did these get passed quality control? I've never run across a set that worked properly.
