Sorry, couldnt resist... I worked as the parts manager in a "high line" car dealer for a few years... quoted lots of parts for cars in similar condition... usually after someone "got a deal" on one with "minor damage".

I used to see that kind of carnage myself..... At Ford, new hires are called FCGs (Ford College Graduates). A lot of them would get rotating through SVT Engineering as one of the 6 month stints as a newbee. I could never figure out, Hmmmmm put a fresh out of college car geek in a prototype SVT Cobra and???????? You can guess what the result was. It happened a lot. The most expensive one I saw was a prototype Aston Martin Vantage.
