I always use de-natured alchohol and clean white paper towels before painting to remove finger prints. It evaporates quickly, so I haven't have any paint problems.

I've also had good luck with using Easy-Off (yellow can) for stripping paint....worked great stripping paint on my Monster Beetle body, also works fantasic on removing anodizing too..at least on a couple projects..:D :

Where did you get your decal sheet? I recently picked up a decal sheet from a certain eBay seller and it's horrible!
