Aaaah, those were the days. Life was so simple back then.

Don't know if they are quite vintage, but my Boston Acoustics HD-8's are my pride and joy. Purchased them new in 1990, re-foamed in 2009. Still a great sounding speaker for their age. My wife was cleaning out the attic last week and she looked at me funny when I said in no way could the original box be recycled!

I was digging through a back room at my parents house and found an old Sansui 400A receiver under a shelf. It's missing one knob, but otherwise looks to be in good condition. I think it's from 1968-70 according to the Internet. I need to plug it in to see if it works. :wink:

Here's a pic from the original ad:

I also found out tonight that the workbench I've had in my RC room all these years is actually a giant audio/speaker cabinet that my family brought here from Germany. It's made of Teak wood and is made of three sections...two backless end cabinets and one large three-section center cabinet with a flip top and shelves for vinyl. I need to get some pics of it.

The only vintage piece I have is my turntable: Sansui SR-2050C. Got it for $10 in the mid '90's and just needed the belt replaced. Still won't get rid of my Infinity studio monitors even though I don't use them anymore, upgraded to KEF about 7 years ago. And, for some reason, I haven't done anything with my Carver preamp and amp even though neither works anymore. The preamp just stopped working one day, and the amp started smoking when I was listening to something.

Hang onto all the Carver items you have.

I see them very rarely, and they are worth keeping!

Thought I'd mention this site too http://www.oaktreevintage.com/. Never actually bought anything from them but I like to window shop. Plus I like that he leaves his sold items up so if you find another elsewhere you can compare prices.

Great thread, and very nice vintage equipment guys and bear with me, I am running a secondary computer (My Power supply went last night on my main one) and doing this with out my graphic applicationss and couldn't compress :(

This is the great old Mac 1900 that almost got my father castrated right after he got married spending the wedding money therefore I would not of been born. But I grew up with it and still runs great today. I got the thor turntable photos too, but not sure how much images I can put on here. Those speakers are tge Bose 3 way, they had a famous name I think 504 or soemthing like that.. SOrry if the photso were to big.

Some cool stuff in this thread..... I love your amp 8rad!

My set-up is far more modern, but still old to many people's eyes I guess!
Its based around a 2nd hand 90s Rotel Amp, Marantz CD player - an 80s Technics Turntable (That looks abit like this one);

But the crowning glory is a pair of B&W CM1 monitors - like these;

Which were unused stock from Abbey Road studios 8) - a mate's dad was the studio manager there :wink:

Now those are very very nice speakers.

I bet the Rotel is not to shabby either.
