This is fantastic!

I had 2 NIB TOMS kits, sold 1 of them and still have 1 NIB together with a Turbo Optima Mid and an Optima Mid Custom. Also have them all built too.

I actually bought an old racer from Japan recently and I was 99% certain it was a Turbo Optima Mid Special (I work overseas and my kit is in the UK so difficult to check chassis weave) but your thread has helped me a huge amount and I now know it is definitely a TOMS :)

Enjoy it! Love the paint job too ;) it's a pain to get the body off with the posts there isn't it!

Below is the runner as it arrived (except it has a Mid Custom body fitted).

As it's going to be a runner I'm going to use wing wire and an Optima Pro body. Pics soon!

Hello Phoenix,

Great build, would you mind if I posted your entire build on my Kyosho Dedicated website?

Check out my Website: http://www.kyosho-optima.com, and let me know if its OK with you, of course I will give you full credit and link back to the forum.

Best Guillaume.

From the looks, this is the Mid with the carbon chassis? For some reason, I though the name was different. I have one, but I got it in a trade so didn't build it myself. It's been a shelf Queen it's whole life.

I love that paint job though, did you do it?
