I read that charging a Lipo battery more than once a day is bad for the battery and can shorten it's life and that it is better/safer to replace the battery when it goes dead with another charged battery than to charge the battery you just discharged.

I don't see why...as long as you don't charge a battery when it's warm, it should be fine. Give a battery time to cool off after running it, before you charge it.

I also recommend soldering 3.5mm bullets between ESC & motor so you can easily swap out motors and also swap motor leads when the inevitable happens--the motor rotation is reversed.

if your lipos are warm/hot you have an issue (most likely undergeared). the only lipos i have that even get mildly warm are the 4s packs that i run in my 1/8 buggy and even then on a warm day you can barely tell it's warm. lipo's can be charged over and over in the same day without issue. i always charge @ 1c, even on packs that claim they can be charged at a higher amperage, i find this allows the batteries to last (life span not runtime) as long as possible. i also never discharge them to the cutoff, it's easier on them and they last longer for it.

I always top my LiPo off after each heat, and they never get warm.

I must have misunderstood what I read thank you for your responses. Is there a post on here that has good general info about Lipos charging, discharge and storage?

I found that if you first generously tin the connectors on the deans connector.
Then you tin the wires and let them both cool down.
Now heat the wire and add enough solder to make your connection the bring the soldering iron and the wire together down to meet the connectors the hot solder will meld with the connector in a way that you can feel and see.
When that happens lift your iron off keeping the wire as still as possible agains the connector tabs.
when you get a glossy shiney solder joint your there.
