I have one last inquiry: What is considered as a "non-programmable" esc? After speaking to the local shop, I found that vintage class would use a "sensored, NON-programmable esc".
It appears that all are programmable to some extent. Also, I would like to have the ability to bump up to something hotter, without having to buy a whole new setup again.

I would think it means no programmable timing...as long as it has "blinky" mode (0 electronic timing boost) you should be okay.

But check with the track to make sure you get the right set up.

Finally after many hours and many more dollars it's alive. It's sooo much faster than before and I'm still trying to get everything dialed in and figured out. The tires started to wear within 10 min. on the pavement so I put on some old foam onroad tires for testing. I geared it 73/32 and it's really fast but I think maybe too much top end for what I'm going to be using it for. I'm bringing it to an indoor dirt track ( RCexitement.com )Tues and I'll see how she does. I'm thinking of making the upgrades to run modern tires mainly for the selection and ease of getting replacements. Not a big fan of the AE speed control with all the beeps and blinking lights, it's pretty much running as it was set out of the box just because I couldn't figure out how to make changes to it.

Do you know their ebay store ID, or do you have to buy direct?

My understanding is that they don't do ebay anymore. Purchased mine direct. Went smooth. Received package in about 2-3 weeks.

i bought one after finding this thread. What really sucked is that i spent $125 on a crappy radio the week before. The Flysky took over for 6 cars and i sold all of my old AM radios and made money while upgrading. Except the fact that i spent $125 on the crappy 2.4 radio. I think the Flysky is awesome! It takes a little use to figure it out but for the price you cant beat it!

Using it in my 1/12 scale, but I am sure it would perform just as well in a vintage rig. No adjustments, but for my driving level I can't tell the difference.

Hi everyone,

I took a leap into the modern age got some 2.4 radio gear, brushless combos and lipos recently.

I had my Compostite craft/RPM RC10 with a 9t and it went like a bullet but had trouble keeping thye front wheels on the ground.

I had a 13.5 in my tub car and it was better but still very light in the front.
I have a full size pack and a shorty pack mounted all the way forward.

Am I running too much horsepower or is it because of the lighter weight of the lipos?
Do I just need to add weight to the front? Would it help to change shock settings?

Any help will be appreciated.

The light front wants to lift. I suggest green springs all around. Mount rear inner tower, outer arm and front mid tower, outer arm. Try less pre load on front springs. A bouncy front setup will catwalk.
