Nah, it wasn't a water-transfer.

The only thing I need Plasti Dip for this is to insulate & waterproof the exposed wires on the wiper motor that I'd removed & restored. I got the Plasti Dip to do some stuff on the Pontiac Torrent, but haven't gotten around to it yet.

Thanks for the comments, Todd!

Back in the day, some punk stole my Charger's fuel cap right off the car. I had to install a cap from a '68 that's been on the car to this day.

For 10+ years, I'd been searching eBay for a correct fuel cap, at a price I could justify (goal: under $50) as the prices of these things are ridiculously high nowadays. I could never seem to find one in good enough condition, the ones that were nice were $70 to well over a hundred, and repros are about $90 before shipping. One guy on eBay selling repros insists on charging $25 or something for shipping, making this a very expensive part for a Canadian.

But patience prevailed! I stumbled upon an eBay auction, some guy was selling not one, but three fuel caps, with only one $29.99 bid in the last few minutes. Tossed in a bid just under $60 and surprisingly made the score for $42 and change.

The caps arrived a few days ago and even the worst of the three was better than I was expecting, with only slight crazing in the chrome. After an overnight soak in Dawn dish soap, all three cleaned up nicely. I've always loved this cap design, it's one of the iconic design elements of the 2nd-gen. Chargers. 8)
