well that's the thing... I don't think they could use the world "champ" or "championship"... as it wasn't an "official" event...

Will check ;)

I got a bargain too, but it wasn't NIB! :-/

I'm in the process of acquiring a few trinity parts, including a front bulkhead. Also a bodyshell, it won't be an original, but a protoform stratus.

I have some fluo yellow 5 spoke losi wheels en route too, thanks too Rick.

It'll be good to do this build, make a slight change from the buggies and not many people have done proper SW builds.

Another excellent Losi you have in your stable.

What a awesome design the XX4 is. Wiped the floor for yrs in off road & I'm pretty sure a on road world champ with the street weapon.

What a weapon too.

Very nice. :) :)

Agreed - the XX4 is still winning races even now, with Lipos and brushless motors it's been given a new lease of life. Even The TLR team have been racing them again.

I wonder if Losi bring out a new 4wd it will have a similar layout!?

After tearing down my weapon I was surprised to find that the main layshaft was steel, but the rear layshaft is aluminium. I remember my car BITD having an aluminium layshaft and I managed to find one on good ol' ebay and it arrived today :-)

I can now finish the transmission, although I just need a rear belt!

Thanks Mike! I will be doing this in my racing livery, although a box-art would be cool!

Made some progress on the Street Weapon front - I've been looking for a rear belt so I could build up the transmission. I bought a NIP one off ebay, but the damn thing was completely perished, so it was back to square one.

I found a guy on the RC tech forum who had a load custom made a couple of years back, and believe it or not still had a couple left. I've fitted the belt onto the car, its a damn tight fit and I think if I was racing it then I might have seconds thoughts about it, but since its for the shelf then it will be ok. Its on the loosest setting too.

No fancy parts added to this build so far, apart from a new chassis & covers, an aluminium main layshaft (the IWC came with a steel one bizarrely, even though the rear layshaft was aluminium) and a black spur gear to replace the white one for aesthetics.

The light was not great for photos but they'll have to do for now.

Just waiting on organising some Trinity parts to arrive and then I can move on to the suspension.

Nearly ready to start putting this back together, a few more parts arrived this week, plus a couple more on their way :D

Wouldn't be a 'jamin' build without some blue Trinity parts...

The 8-32 blue nuts gives a nice hint as to what is coming 8)

I am also looking for some black rear pivot blocks, which I should have soon thanks to Dan @sabulatech looking out for me :D

Those blue Trinity parts are very 'Yummy'! :D I received some blue 'gold' the other day too - that transmission brace for the XX that you informed me about - massive thanks!

Looking forward to seeing your Street Weapon's build progress with these parts 8)

Glad you got it Dan, they dont come up that often, goes to show that if you deliberate too much you can miss out on things - there was some XX4 front CVDs on the bay a few days ago - by the time i decided I wanted them they'd gone! Now I am kicking myself.

I've got some more 'blue' bits coming, but they are not Trinity! Shock, horror!! :D But they are cool and in-keeping with the build! Its gonna be ace :D

Ripped apart all those Trinity parts and threw them on the car, along with some titanium nitrided hinge pins. Looking good so far, MIP driveshafts & hubs to go...
