Yep, she's here too. 8)

Not sure I'll be able to swing the vonats this year. I'd love to though. Maybe it's time I organize a midwest vintage race.

Hopefully I can make it back to CT next year.

Bumpity bump!

Well, the truck has continued to evolve. It now has JPS axles and a hard body. I've kind of made what I feel is the ultimate Clodbuster. Powers chassis, AE shocks, JPS axles with TTR CVDs and ball diffs, Tecnacraft wheels, Chevy hardbody with APM roll bar. It's still got the SuperRooster (feels like the only real Clod ESC to me, that and the PDI Turbo Zeta) but now has a 2.4 Airtronics radio.

It's no longer a racer, but it'll tear up the backyard like nobody's business!

Looks beautiful. Is this a B&W picture or is the body gray?

I really like that classic body look. I tried to fit my original clod body back on my "clod", but the suspension hits under the hood. Plus I'm paranoid about damaging it now.

It's color. Just the grey of winter I suppose. The body is painted Tamiya gun metal.

Look closely at my wheel wells. I cut them out, like on a full sized mt. I tried to keep it as subtle looking as possible, but big enough for clearance at full suspension compression.

I'm paranoid about damaging my body too, but at the end of the day it's still a Clod and if it gets a scratch, it gets a scratch. The thing about the Powers chassis is that you can drive it really hard and it still manages to stay on all fours. They're incredibly stable chassis. It takes some fast and wild driving, combined with some unseen bumps to get it out of control.

I'm still running the Clodzilla II chassis with the ESP cantilever suspension. Maybe I need to upgrade because my clod is only on its wheels 50% of the time. My concern about the body is not so much scratches, but breakages. I noticed the wheel wells on your body right away. I wasn't sure about the way it looked at first, but it grew on me quickly. My other problem is that there are just too many clod options. I can't make up my mind!

Awesome history there Dan! I'd love to be part of a full Clod class! At the vonats, I was the only Clod in the MT class the year I raced, but it was a blast. I totally destroyed my Bigfoot body that weekend. For the track, a lexan body is a must, and don't spend much time on it, cause it's gonna be thrashed. It was great though, I was the beast on the track, the few other trucks in the class knew they were in deep doo-doo if I was on their tail, lol.

Matt, maybe try running your zilla2 without the cantilevers. Every cantilevered truck I've run had great suspension travel, but was just too loose at speed over rough stuff. Shocks straight from the chassis to the axles usually mellows that out, along with sway bars.
