Yeah, ever been in the infield of a NASCAR race wearing a t-shirt of Calvin pissing on a tombstone with a number 3 on it?
No, and attempting something like this would likely get the wearer's butt kicked if not removed from existence.
Personally, I see the tragedy in DE's unfortunate death, however the hero worship that goes along with it is just a bit ridiculous. This would apply to hero worshiping of anyone.
Reminds me of this little ditty from Top Gear. The boys take a road trip from Florida to Louisianna and one of the challenges was to paint "slogans" on each others cars. The little stunt nearly gets them killed by the local rednecks.

This is the hour long episode if anyone is interested. Over all it's pretty funny, with the exception of the Alabama stunt.

The Topgear across the south was hilarious, but also I seem to think they really didn't realise just how stupidly dangerous that stunt was.
There are those that need little, if any, excuse to be violent...and in fact are always looking for the chance.

Yeah they seemed to get very scared in the end didn't they? I have only been to California to snowboard so have no idea what its like in the South but would love to go.

OK, I grew up in Florida (til I was 25), but Florida is not really the "South" (you to be an American to understand that). And I have only been in the true "South" for 8 months now. You make it sound like I know my way around here.

Actually, I figured you'd know what to
avoid.

Yup! There's a big difference in the sense of humor between the two sides of the pond. Over there that probably wouldn't have garnered much of a reaction at all.

Doesn't matter where you were born or where you are currently, there are mental midgets who act like that everywhere. It's best just not to provoke them, at least don't mock them to their faces!

Those mental midgets make the rest of us look like illiterate hicks
But your right, they are everywhere. You just have to drive a few miles off the paved road to find them sometimes.
