Guys,

I have a new body and wing for the car that I will trim up and paint for the car to display it with after a clean up. What are your thoughts on an appropriate paint scheme for a car like this? Thanks in advanced for the suggestions!

IMO a new (chinese) body and wing is kinda outa wack. For display purposes, I guess I see making it pretty, but please don't divorce that body from the car. That thicker lexan is an attractive characteristic, to me at least. If it were me I would trim the wing properly (which will remove some of the chipping), and then re-decal the existing body, using some strategy with decals to hide any imperfections, maybe getting some external striping decals (you know the stuff at the lhs guys use for planes) and run it over that messy red garbage.

I will keep the original body with the car stored. It probably looks better in the photos than in person. It has been clear coated so it has a heavy orange peal over the entire surface of the body. Its trimmed poorly and you cant add material back where its been cut too short or fix the massive holes for the body posts. You can trim the wing correctly but it has a big crack that goes up farther into the wing itself so its really not worth the time. But thanks for the input and I look forward to more.

Great find.

What I find totally amazing is the original owner did not want to run this properly. What is wrong with some kids? Did he grow up playing with dolls instead?
