So lets talk about the rear since I have already shown a pic of it with my opening post. Yes, we are going with Hex setup for both ends of the car... I want to make the most "up to date" Old is New... and this car will be close to the B4.2... Yes I said B4.2 and in these pics will better relate the 2. This is only the rear of the car, I will get in depth of the front later on. As a matter of fact, the shocks and shock tower up front will be changed later on, but I am going to do initial testing with the 1.02 BB Shocks for now. Later we will be going to .89 shocks and a custom shock tower. (<~That is a teaser, yes a Shock tower is in the works)
Now for the rear:
This is the rear hub built. It is a RPM rear hub that is made to be used for the GT (Part #70172, still available) with B4 Axle and Avid Rear B4 Hex adapter. I am also using MIP B4 Shiny CVD's... AE CVA's do not work with this build, they are too short. Nothing special about the axle except you do not need to use very many shims:

Here is a pic of the width of my B4.2. Now there is not a lot of science behind this... I eyeballed it. But I measured from approx. the same place on both cars. I have a better method for this for later on, but for now, this will do. the idea is to line up the outside edge of the hex with the ruler.

This can be achieved with Dynotech arms... Its a different recipe though. Can't think of it off the top of my head. I was going to use them at first, but it didn't look as clean as this setup... I went through all the possibilities I could think of and wrote notes when I started this project. The car I tested this recipe on has probably been assembled and dis-assembled at least 30 times trying different parts.
Really, things I saw on this website are what inspired me to build this car... Plus I thought since the B4.2 came out, we also needed an update to the Old is New car to match. (Including the +8 factor)
I started this on a T2 chassis (For the length of the chassis)... I stopped that because it was going to be more time consuming and I don't have that patience. I figured I could build it this way, then I can do something with a T2 while I run this one.

Looks like you have been busy figuring out the diferent combos of parts to use, looks good.
For those interested, more arms will be machined in 6 months or so.
Looking forward to seeing more of the progress on this one.

Okay, so now its on to the front of the car. This was actually the easiest part of this build for me and one of the first things I figured out. I was struggling with the rear of the car till one day I was looking at one of Bob's build thread and essentially just copied that which worked out perfectly. But the front, I built this right away. It is narrowly wider than the B4.2. Approx. 1mm or so. Again, the measurement pics are eyeballed as with the rear of the car... but you can get the jist of it by seeing the ruler in the pic. I'm working on a better way to measure everything with will be more accurate.
Once again, I am looking to get close to the +8 of the B4.2, so to do this we need to mount the kick plate in the forward position like a RC10T (Yes I do know about the scratches... The Chassis was not NIP, but was unused):
So in these pics you see the already built hubs and carriers. This is using 20 degree B4 castor blocks, SC10/B4.2 steering blocks, JConcepts B4.1 hex conversion and Avid Hexes also used a short shoulder ballstud. The Avid hexes are b4 rears... You can use the fronts, but the front end will be about 5mm less width than the B4.2:

Don't know if that means purty, expensive, or rare...
The hub carrier is still available if that is what you mean? Part #70272. Its made for a rc10t or Gt. I just bought these from the RPM website just a few weeks ago. And even though shiny cvd's might not be made, you can still get the black ones for the B4 from Tower or MIP. I found these in a 50% off clearance box at hobbytown, LOL.
