Yep! That's the one that gave me the idea. I saw it in the Hot Trick thread and said it would be cool all black.

I gotta pick up some paint this weekend and get the body done.

That's a nice car. Is that a Jetta Mk4 body?

Thank you! It was a fun little project. And yes, it's a mk4 Jetta. I'll post some updated pics of the body when I'm back in town!

I guess this thread needs to be wrapped up since the car is done....

side note first- out of curiosity I tossed a couple of the new 6279 ball cups in with some other parts I was brightening up. It made them an even worse color! This pic doesn't really show the greenish color they are from the factory, but I think everyone has figured that out by now and had a few laughs or grumbles over it. Anyways... don't bother tossing them in the hydrogen peroxide.
Image

however, they do dye well! Here's the crappy ones from above on the left, the dyed on the right, and a row of fluorescent yellow ends from RPM at the top for comparison.
Image

and since I wanted everything either black or fluorescent yellow, I dyed a set of the 6272 ball stud foam dust covers black. They dyed really well. No heat, in a water bottle with black Rit dye for a day. Then rinsed them well and dried them. That's all it took.
Image

While I was getting the rest of the fluorescent yellow stuff ready, I started making the styrene parts for the body.

And here's the body painted, chassis finished, and splitters/diffuser ready to install
