One of, if not the most beautiful RC car I have ever seen I did one a few years back, but nothing like that, top of the line work. Its cars like this that make me want to do another

Here is the front carrier and axles that i used. Them assembled and installed. The polished shocks and rod ends after deanodizing. Here is the roll cage all polished up. Then everything assembled and the connection at the rear of the rollcage now. Those p clamps actually raise the elevation of the roll cage a little. It works better as the gear cover was still slightly blocked at the normal height they showed in stock picture.

no kidding on the heavy. The bigger shocks and wider front wheels should hopefully help with that. I'll put fully metal gears in the tranny and get a good torquey motor. I talked with LRP about the flow ESC but got shot down on it. Part of it is sealed to the casing and cant be removed for deanodizing.

I am cheating at moment with 2 parts. The rear bulkhead and tranny brace are still plastic but I threw some of the mirror trim I bought for my truck on it. just gives it a reflective appearance.

There is no drive linkage between the tranny and wheels at moment. with all 4 wheels in bearings, this thing just rolls too.

I have one method of holding the battery case down at moment but its crude at best. I'm using 2 angle brackets on each side to form a z shape but I'm hoping to find a single bracket that can handle it.

I'm planning on cutting up a body to set on the front and back portions. It will be completely split around the window area of the car.

EDIT: Looks like my options for electronics arent going anywhere. To make a usuable set might end up costing somewhere near $1k and thats just not going to fly. I think im gonna look at some mirror sheets from an automotive store, cut them up and stick on existing electronics. The only reciever option I had was to buy a futuba 4pk which runs around $600 with reciever.

I'm still considering deanodizing a motor if i can get one cheap enough. Ill do a combination of deanodizing and the mirror sheet on an esc if i can find one with a removable heatsink. Most seem to have the heatsink sealed to some part in the esc.

It just keeps getting better

rc4wd.com they come in a clear ano and unpolished underneath. There size will cause some clearance issues. I played around with mine for a few hours just figuring out where all the clashes on it were in my steering.

a word of warning, they have less than 50% track record of getting orders right with me. I've gotten quite a bit that had bad threads or were the wrong size entirely. They do make the effort to replace what was wrong though.

Just an update.

-Ordered a servo, will deanodize and polish later on. HobbyKing was the only supplier I could find which has me worried as their shipping claimed 7-14 days but I got an email later saying up to 45 days now.

-I ordered a receiver case for a reciever similar in size to my current one. ordered from GPM

-My oldest velineon motor was sacrificed to the deanodizing process. Hope it still runs after this. Its halfway polished up now. It looks like the end pieces of the motor are clear anodized so I'll deanodize it too when I do the few other parts im getting.

-I got a motor spacer, servo horn and shiny CVD's in. Still waiting for my full CVD kit to come in the mail.

-I'm going to attempt to polish the rollcage panels from BCD. The larger clamps I used in the rear are too bulky to mount the panel, need to find another solution. I might cut the panels up into pieces for easier installation later on.

-all my electronics are covered so far except for the speed control. No luck so far finding one I can polish, I might have to settle on something that just looks close.

-I'd like to put a lighting Kit on the car to make it seem like the original but with working lights. The P Clamps I used on the roll cage might be used again on the sides of the upper to mount lights. Not sure about the Top yet.

The closer I get to finishing this thing, the more I want to do with it.
