Thanks for the nice comments guys, it's getting there slowly but surely! Small update: while waiting for the body and decals to arrive, I finally managed to source the correct front tires. These are very illusive indeed but when it rains it pours and I actually nabbed two pairs! I also scored the correct Yokomo rear wheel adapters with 4 screw holes, but it seems they won't slide on the rear axles without being reamed. Anybody experienced the same? I'm a bit lost about what to do, would love to hear what others have done to solve this issue.
I then was off to cut some studs, couldn't leave these alone!

I spent quite some time yesterday on the rear drive train: I trimmed the 4 outer lips of the rear wheels, first with a blade then with sandpaper and I managed to get the TH-1 rear hubs fit the rear axles by lightly sanding the rear axles. They now fit perfectly. I also discovered how different the offset is between the TH-1 adapters with 4 holes and the ones with only 2 mounting screw holes; probably 5mm added to the rear track in total with the 4 holes adapters. I'll post a comparison pic soon. There is still a lot to do although:
- further lighten the rear wheels with lightning holes
- dye the rear rims and the rear shock cups
- modify and lighten the rear wheel adapters
- gold anodise the wing mounts
- break the top deck at the front (ewww

)
- source a decent Novak M1C, any help would be highly appreciated!!

I better get on that body. The masking went perfect, next is to take my time on shading.
Good job on the car, it's looking perfect!

What kind of wing mounts are those?

Essentially yokomo 870c mounts.

Yep they are original Yokomo ones.
Took the plunge and modded the wheels, not forgetting to include the rear shock cups in the dye bath. Mods are not perfect but it ain't so easy as the nylon flashes quite bad. Looking at Masami's wheels, I wondered if he balanced them in a way or another, lightweighting holes are not so regularly spaced on his either. In the end it's quite a lot of material removed in a very sensitive mass rotating area.

Decals have finally arrived! I'm really stocked by the quality of Louis' (aka Ultrahive) work. There is just a few ones missing to make a really complete replica body, but that will only add to the challenge of such a build

WOW, how much did you put in the tip jar to get those decals?
UltraHIVE does some of the best work, wish he would just grow up!

No tip at all Rod, he was super nice as soon as I finally managed to get hold of him. Wasn't easy but I'm super pleased with them and there's no other way to get them anyhow. Louis was also kind enough to add a lot of extras and ended up paying part of the shipping price. I guess it's all or nothing.

He gave me extras as well when I got decals before the falling out.
