Adding the parts to the chassis.
Hinge pins mounted reverse, used by Phil Davies this way.
Need some front end springs for finishing the front end. Hope to continue in the evening.

Next step is rear axle/diff assembly. Parts shown at the picture will be used.
Rear axle and diff hub are Stealth 1 version.
A special clamping hub will be used for the left side, one of the special parts used by Associated team drivers.
For the spur gear I was not sure which way to go, I just know Phil used a black 64DP spur. This means no Associated spur as their "Precision Spurs" were not made as 64DP. A period correct black 64DP spur would be Kimbrough or Dumor, both also popular choices by factory guys. And the spur needs working with the small diameter Stealth diff rings.
I´m not really sure if there is a difference between a Kimbrough spur of 1995 and a current one, so I will go with a Dumor what have been left from those days.

Diff assembled and mounted to the RC12LS. Diff cone, belleville washers and diff nut will be added after mounting of rear wheels. This is a final step.

Next step will be restoring of a shock, this came with a parts lot and is in used condition. Also more of the aluminium ball studs are needed for mounting the shock.
Some additional parts are needed for completing the RC12LS Euro Champs Special project. Currently missing parts are white rear body posts, white servo mount, also white ball cups and turnbuckle for steering setup.

Thanks Dave.
I fear there will be not really much updates left at the moment.
The Delta Shock should be restored in the next days, also wheels are there.
Also found aluminium screws for the chassis brace now, needing a session at the supersonic cleaner.
Other required parts I have not found until now.
I try to follow the original Phil Davies car as close as possible, so want using correct parts. I could use black plastic parts but that´s not what I want. My idea is to use the same parts as what could be seen at pictures, for parts what can´t be seen I will use what I think could be correct.
Not sure yet if there will be just the car or a body also in the end. Paint scheme is close to the Cliff Lett design, but slightly different colours. If I decide for a body also, I need someone doing the paint job. I´m not really good at this.

Hi V12,
Any updates will be great.
Is that a ultrasonic cleaner that you are using?
Have you had good results with it?
What fluid do you use to clean parts, both plastic and metal?
Sorry for all the questions but I am interested in getting one.
Thank you, Dave.

Yes it is ultrasonic cleaner.
I use this for anything. Right at the first page of this build thread you can see lower arms before and after ultrasonic cleaner. Some more expensive machines use internal heating system what is very good but also expensive. I just use warm water and dish soap for cleaning. Of course there are some chemical stuff doing better job than this but I hate using such for health reasons, also they can hurt parts if you´re using wrong stuff.
I run the machine until there is no progress anymore. Usually this is around 15 to 25 minutes for me.
Results could vary but always is looking nicer than before.

Thank you, I will have another look at the start of your thread.
I had a look,

Wow they came up really well.
I'm off this afternoon to look at a Cleaner!
Cheers, Dave.

Was now working at the center shock.
I had no new shock parts, but a used shock which came with a parts lot.
Picture showing dirty condition.

Shock disassembled and pre-cleaned with brake cleaner.
Afterwards a session at my favourite cleaning machine, yes ultrasonic again.

Two aluminium ball studs and shock mounted to the chassis.
Not really much steps left for finishing the project.
Parts still needed are white ball cups and track rods, white servo mount and rear body posts. Also replacing some hardware with aluminium versions.
Wheels will be borrowed from an other project.
