The manual also makes mention of single ball stud two shock position towers.
You're probably spot on, I'm wrong, more often than right

I'm very sorry to derail your thread RJ

I never really noticed the dual stud locations on the front towers before

I went through my kits, and noticed that there are three variants. Dual hole, lower hole, and center hole. Anyways back to the build

Discussion is good, it's how we learn. The two hole arms are correct in my opinion while I doubt GT's had single hole arms.

Thanks guys, I'm really happy how it has turned out so far.
The RC10GT has always been a favorite of mine, I'll always remember thumbing through RCCA and seeing the two page spread of the GT. While I have owned many GT's a nice white example has always seemed to elude me.
This one is definately one of my favorites.

The OS CZ-Z came apart for a full clean and rebuild. The crank was a bit rusty and the rear bearing was stuck to it. I managed to free the bearing and lightly cleaned the rust off the crank. All of the components have been cleaned and reassembled, they are now in good shape.

Here is the engine all finished ready to go in

I do need to order a new set of clutch shoes first though. I bought a set from Tower a while ago but they came without holes, this clutch has the curved spring which I've only seen a couple of times and requires the holes.

A little bit of progress, I'm still waiting on a few things before I can bolt them in. I've got new engine mounts coming for the like new truck and new clutch shoes, hopefully they'll make it by the end of the week. I'm also waiting on a few engine parts as I've decided to replace the rear bearing in the engine above, and replace the throttle arm and dust boot. I still need to order some carb mounting screws which Tower is backordered on
All that's really left is to restore the throttle and brake linkage.
Getting close to finishing these.

Thanks hugger,
Even though both trucks (yes there are two

) were in excellent shape it's amazing how much small work there is. Cleaning all the little bits and pieces, removing corrosion, going through the screws one by one etc....

I made the unfortunate mistake of only ordering the rear engine bearing. The front bearing is actually worse than the rear so it's another 2 week wait for it to arrive

Serves me right for trying to do it cheap.
At least these things will be like new when I'm done.

I wonder how mad my wife would be if she found a GT chassis in the dish washer
