Can someone tell me what the difference is between the SC5M and the T5M, apart from the obvious, eg Body mounts, body etc
are the 2 cars interchangeable with parts, i will have to pull my T5M out and start the Build, the SC Looks like a Nice car

The suspension, transmission, towers, and steering rack/bulkhead are all the same.

From what I see, you will only need:

71025 Chassis
71027 Cradle
71028 Guards
71029 Bumper
71030 R Bumper
71031 Body mounts
71033 F axles

You will also need some metric hardware to install bumpers etc. I would just buy a screw kit if you can find one. Of course you also need body and 3mm plus offset wheels. Same body and wheels as SC10.2.

Yeh I know Ray, he was from Perth before moving over east,good bloke very fastidious about his rc stuff... Interesting you run his setup but like I said he does get right into setting his cars up and preparing them to an extremely high standard.. Thanks for sharing your build an test mate...

I forgot to show some pictures of weight difference. I have four scales and have been balancing my cars lately. These show an odd heavy weight on the left front corner. Every thing is built to spec. Note: During my test, I have not added any weight or changed location of electronics. You can see other weight comparisons on page one later.



A little extra weight on the right rear, normal giving the motor.



Strange weight difference on the front. ? Would love to know why?

slight bit o chassis tweak, or maybe need to adjust one of the front shock ends a half turn.

No chassis tweak and the shock collars are equal. I do adjust my cars collars to compensate for minor tweak but I just thought the front was a bit much on my SC5. I have not added any weight or changed my collars yet. I have run it all 100% factory with great results.

TQ'ed my race this weekend but only managed a third in the main. My rear wheel fell off on the last lap because I stripped the 3Racing wheel nuts!

Jconcepts nuts bite crazy hard onto the rims. Strange the nut stripped while driving though.

Not the spring collars, the rod end. Effectively making the shocks different lengths. Slight, but enough to preload.

just figured Id throw this out there rod but with that futaba tx/rx system, The frsky 4ch fasst recievers are compatible with the tx's that use the 3p/4p systems. I got one in my cars and its been pretty bullet proof as well as 1/3 the price or so. I just tired of the $80 to $100 prices for those things.

I use digital callipers on everything and the shocks are 100% perfect. I raced on road (nitro and electric) for many years and I know this is a critical setting. I have since carried over my OCD to my off road cars.

The wheel nuts I used were not J-Concepts, they were 3Racing. J-Concepts nuts would not strip. I like these Traxxas nuts the best, but my hobby shop has poor stock now: http://www.amain.com/rc-cars/traxxas-4mm-aluminum-flanged-serrated-nuts-blue-4-tra1747r/p23099

A bit off topic but have you tried the V2 Fox shocks yet Rod? Are they noticably better?

I have not, mine are back ordered but I'm sure they are smooth. Are we going to notice a difference? Probably not!
