The car sat in the closet for about 2 years because I couln't stand to think about it. I finally decided to restore it...I polished all of the metal parts and this is how it looks today.
I still need to install the linkage, decals for the shocks and find a driver, but it's pretty close to being complete.

I have always loved the look of the old Bulldog and it definately is one of those old buggies which takes you back to the golden era of racing.
I picked up what looks to be a new built car a short while back. It was a little dusty but looks as though its never had a radio fitted and everything looks very scratch free,even the tyres have held up well.
I want to mod mine so I would like to remove the rims and tyres and se if I can mod something 2.2inch to it.

The drive is via pins throught the drive shaft. So you should be able to buy new hex drives to convert to standard 1/10 wheels. I will try to fit my baja wheels and tell you how I go.

Standard Tamiya hex does not fit without modification. the main drive shaft on the mugen is thicker than normal tamiya typr drive shafts so the centre hole on the hex would need to be drilled out.

All I know is that the bulldog 2 had factory assembled diffs and came with front and rear bumpers. Other than that the roll cage was replaced with a polycarbonate shell and thats about it. If anyone else knows of any other differences please feel free to add. See this ad for info

That looks awesome. I am going through a rebuild of my two remaining Bulldogs at the moment. These things take time.
I had the original Sanwa Speeed Controller 300 ESC rebuilt for the race modified Bulldog and am going to restore the original Bulldog as per the manual with brushed motor and mechanical speed control and AM radios. lol

Hi Betsy,your red car has a mod from back in the day,Hotshot outer rims mounted over the stocks wheels to take 2 inch tyres.Very cool.

I always wondered about the wheels.
I still have original wheels and Tyres for the standard car.
The tyres still have the pins on them.
I will put up some pics of the restoration so you can see what I'm up against.

The polishing puts me off. I cant quite work out the best (Fastest) method.
Still trying to find some diff outdrives for the front diff on the red car.
I bought some but the bore is too small. Anyone got ideas on how to drill hardened steel?
