also, 20w-30w oil is around the right range for the shocks, the kit usually supplied 30w.
Thanks, I just ordered the jconcepts detonator body.

It kind of makes me want to build one with the newer technology, electric speed control and a good motor.

I always liked the sound of that tab moving when you throttle this one, though. I haven't heard it in decades but it is still stuck in my head.

It's hardly a junker. It just needs a teardown and cleaning. 99% of what's there is fine.

Your rear arm mounts are on the wrong sides. FYI.
Ha, and there they have been for decades plus some, until you said something. Looking back, I recall something about moving them around. I wish I could remember why.

How is this?

Your shocks were on the wrong side of the shock tower, yes, but I was referring to the rear arm mounts. Pages 27 and 28:

https://www.teamassociated.com/pdf/cars_and_trucks/RC10/Team/rc10_manual.pdf

Looking from the sides, the rear arms should be pitched up facing the front. Having them on the wrong sides removes the anti-squat and will give it 0 degrees of toe-in (which you can see in your first pics). Basically it'll have little rear traction when accelerating, it'll probably be squirrelly in the straights and not corner that well.

Gotta pay attention to the details! ;)

Thank you. I can't quite picture the orientation of the part. I'll have to look into it next time I mess with it.

I think I've gone about as far as I'm going to with the cleaning. Now to wait for parts and check the manual on the rear arms.

Thanks. The battery and charger I ordered came in today and the battery pack is a 1/16 of an inch too long to fit the tray. The wires come directly out of the center side, which would make it a difficult fit even if the pack were shorter. I guess I'm going to try to charge the old battery.

A little cutting and soldering, it's a tight fit but it works.

Your antenna mount is on upside-down also. Nitpicking, but FYI anyway.

I appreciate the nitpicking. I would like to fix all my preteen mistakes.

While oiling the shocks I noticed I am missing a spring cup in the front. The only one I found so far is $27 on eBay. Ouch

I'm sure someone on here could help you out with that. I would, but don't have any to give.
