All you really need is a lipo bag and keep them away from other stuff for basic safety. One step further would be an ammo box, just keep the lid ajar, not snapped shut.

That's what I need ! The filtered lid is a great idea "After getting the fire out and the smoldering battery out of the house, I had an intense cleanup effort, the battery produced a very heavy black soot that was throughout my entire house, it settled on everything." I've seen the magic smoke and don't want to be running around trying to do something quickly, should be a safe way to do this. I've seen others online using fireproof boxes ducted trough the roof.

Yes, that's right. There are some very important claims that make this different than others, especially home made charging stations. The fact that you can safely pick the box up and take it outside to let it flame out and not have the fumes inside your house is huge. You can't do that w/ a lipo bag or an ammo box. If you're charging inside (which I think most are), you are stuck w/ the fumes unless you dare to pick it up and take it outside.

I'm still trying to find more info. There is a relatively recent thread on rcgroups with a company rep answering a few Qs.

I've watched a vented top ammo case video in the past and it still blew out through the hole made for the charging wires, this looks pretty serious (images from the rcgroups thread).

Yes, I've seen all of those videos.

I do hate that bat-safe uses the scare tactic to sell but it works for me since I am scared!

Have you purchased this yet? I was close last night but wanted to think about this a bit more....

If they do what they say all the shops should be jumping on this ? I'd like a couple myself, one for charging and another for storing. They look to be local to me too, but it might be a few months before I can even think about it.

Might seem like it until it happens to you.

I would buy one for sure. Please keep us updated if they become available.

Well...I just ordered one. I was order #902....The 902nd guinea pig...haha

Although I won't have a need to charge any Lipos for a while (my RC10 build will be taking it's time), I will report back on how the product is.

So with all that stuff I've been talking about I get home yesterday from a 4 month business trip and grab my race stuff from storage...

Bring it home all excited to wire up a new B6, you know cause the perfectly good one sitting in front of me isn't black and green.

Pull my stocker out of my Pelican case and take the body off only to find I left my battery plugged in for 4 months......so I have a 0.0 LiPo now

Situational awareness kids....the same crap I preach just bit me in the butt
