Definitely made his mark in the automotive industry. He will be missed!
My friend made the following comment in a different forum and i agree.
Say what you will about the reality TV show or his line of billet wheels, but one thing I always respected about Boyd Coddington was the way he saw the whole car.
IMO, too many hot rodders (and too many car stylists for that matter) get so wrapped up in the details they loose sight of the overall look and end up with a car that is busy, cluttered, or incongrous. Boyd had his "hiccup" philosophy and said that yours eyes should just flow over the car and take it in as one whole....there shouldn't be hiccups that catch your eye before you see the whole car.
Regardless, he did have a hand in inspiring many of the HotRod trends we see now.

Everything I have heard about anyone who met him in person said that he wasn't any different from the guy on TV. Yeah, it was sensationalized television, but he was a premier ass-hat. He doesn't become a nicer guy now that he's dead.
Cool cars and a true hot rod innovator, but he was just a guy who should have treated people a lot better than he did. Sorry, call me evil and callous, but I have a tough time feeling sympathetic for dead guys who weren't very nice people when they were alive.
Meh. Good riddance.

not sure how true this is or not, but i heard from the owner of my lhs who makes lexan bodies for some major manufacture's, that Gil Losi Sr. is buying half of the Coddington business. he said Halsey told him this yesterday.
