Getting closer to having project "Superbeast" running. Just finished up airbrushing the body recently now. Still have to get the electronics (brushless 2200kv motor and Monster X ESC) then have the driveshafts made, but getting closer to the end of the build.

Thanks. No I've been airbrushing for a long time. Actually use to have a little side biz doing it for other people's bodies, but now a days just do it on my own trucks.

Steve, i was wondering since u do such quality builds based on Clod Busters if u could possibly do one based on the MRP High Roller?
Yes it might be costly but would be cool to see during these extremely boring times...u could go with and MRP bag motor for authenticity.......just hopin

I've never owned a High Roller before, actually forgot all about that truck haven't heard that name for many years. I tell ya, after getting these rc4wd digger axles for this build, I honestly don't know if I will ever use any other type of axle on a build now. I always loved my clods, but the build quality and beefiness of these diggers is just unreal. I think if/when I build anymore trucks they will all be with these axles most likely :)

I understand :D .....but a High Roller would add to your collection and u could use those axles on it, dont have to keep it stock except for the MRP motor  you might be the only one with the skills to pull it off!!!

Been a while since I updated this build. I was on a fishing trip up north the past 2 weeks and just got back home a few days ago. So now that I am back I have started working on this build again. Before I left I ordered a set of Revo axle shafts as well as pair of Traxxass yokes and u joints so I could make my own driveshafts for it. Took a little work with having to drill out the holes as well as make some spacers for between the trans and yokes but after a couple hours work the shafts are in and running nice and true.

Ordered the ESC and motor as well as LCD programmer for it as well. Got a Hobbywing XR8 SCT Pro esc and 3600kv brushless motor. Those should be here Monday. So moving along on this again.

Spent the weekend working on the truck. The ESC & motor are on track to be delivered today  so I got the steering servo all mounted properly and wired back to the rx with some extension leads. Got the limiting straps set and mounted at proper lengths now. Made some sponsor plates. Replaced the cap head screws on the Digger axles with some stainless cap head ones. And fabed up a flag mount out of some steel tube. Won't be long now and this one will be up and running.

Thanks guys. I had got out of building these MT's and the whole RC hobby completely about 18 yrs ago and just got back in about 2 yrs ago. Really forgot just how enjoyable it was not only running them, but just spending time in the shop building as well :)

I hoped to have it running tonight after the motor&esc came this morning. Should have known though from the past...when you build a truck chassis from scratch you ALWAYS run into "modifications" (i.e- problems) when installing the electronics ;) Ended up having to clearance a trans mount so the front of the motor cleared it. Had to take the scs trans apart and removed some material from the opening as well as the inner case itself so I could run a 17t steel pinion. Had to move the battery tray forward about 3" to clear the top of the motor. That I actually like though because I think now it will help keep the front end down better on acceleration. And also had to cut out a bar & mount I made for the esc and move that to the side. So after 6 hrs of work its not moving tonight, but it does have power tonight for the very first time :)
