I'm just really happy they're doing a Jammin Jay replica! I think that's long overdue.

Though... has anyone noticed the complete disinterest the AE guys have for the re-releases. Each video they make is sprinkled with, "Why?", "Who's gonna buy this?", "People are still interested in these?", "I had no interest", on and on. Dismiss it as racers mentality but, it says something when the spokespeople for your company are making backhanded comments about the product in your own promotional videos.
It also could just be those guys joking around with a little sarcasm. From what I've read and watched over the years, those guys are pretty good jokers. They are probably just as excited about seeing these things come back to life as alot of us here. Just a theory.

GoMachV wrote: Thu Sep 19, 2024 4:20 pm I definitely dont see them doing a CE arm .56 car, they will have .71 shocks its just a matter of time. The .56 CE arm cars were a fairly short run with 4 hole shock towers and I dont see them doing that again. They likely dont even remember it TBH. Id be betting on a CE or Team car, but they might shoot for a Worlds again. I just wouldn't bank on it.
Thanks I’ve been wondering if my 6 gear graphite has the wrong front shocks but I guess they could be correct then.

I just saw the video...nice to know that Jay was involved with the entire project and had the final say. So the 2nd place winning 4WD prototype RC10 at the 85 race was that the MIP conversion (or an in house associated project)?

In my opinion, a few details that would have really improved this edition.
Lighter gold anodizing, sides of chassis trimmed down, holiday buggy type tires, and bearings.

I agree, but AE is not concerned about 100% correctness. The 10 & 10T kits had inaccuracies as well. They are looking to recycle parts across as many platforms as possible. I'd imagine it's a financial decision.

It’s a nice addition. I just wish it came painted. I will never be able to do a box art body on this or even the RC10T.

Do not despair, the kit comes will a full decal sheet so you'll only need to shoot one color. :D

I haven't researched this yet but the blue sorta looks like Tamiya PS-16. Maybe those who have made a replica can chime-in and provide some guidance.

That was an in-house conversion.

The story I heard was that AE had no involvement in the 4wd, it was a 3rd party and they only got it right before the race. I don't recall if I heard that in the gene husting videos or read it somewhere though.

Edit- here it is from the video, you want DVD #10

Ooo... that'll be all kinds of fun when it comes to laying the seam of the top and side graphics... right on a compound curve.

If they did a Cliff Lett edition Team Moo buggy that would be really cool too. That also seems like it's long overdue.
