Hey Kenooze,
That is some really cool stuff there! Dude, clean that nasty thing up, and get it into running condition again. Take some pictures like you have it now, and restore the damn thing.
What is the point of taking a bunch of dirty dusty parts, and putting them in a glass case??!! Sure, I guess it is RC History, but who cares.......Do what you want, and have fun doing it.
I dont know, sometimes I just do not understand the mentality of keeping something like that, in that condition.....I mean, it's not like you have a museum that people can come and see the parts at.
Fix it up, install some period correct electrics, and dare I even suggest, run the thing once or twice. You dont have to bash it, just run it, and get a sense of what was good about this car.

Anyone want to guess why they went for a belt ontop set-up? I thought it was to run without an undertray....which could explain the body posts as well.

I would rebuild it, after all just about every other part is standard Procat so not difficult to replace.

To lower the centre of gravity, so improve the handling. The heaviest part is the batteries, dropping the weight of the batteries by 1/4" makes a lot of difference. It was always designed to run with an undertray.

I just found this picture with the entrant number
'512' still on the shell from the 91 detroit 'worlds'. The second pic illustrates the shell,wing and undertray set i sold quite a while ago to fit the Procat. I still have the undertray with matching paint scene on my completely rebuilt car.

I have some Oberle diff for that car and for the Cougar and strange other prototype diff comes from a french Schumacher Team Driver also in Australia 1989 with Pro Cat and Top Cat .
Regarding the Oberle diff, do you have pictures?
I know and have some of his 1/12 parts but never saw such diff.
