I finished making the nose tubes tonight and got the car ready to tomorrow night at the track. For now, i borrowed the body off my B1m, since it was the donor for this build anyhow. The wing is borrowed off my Hot Trick car. Stay tuned for videos

Been watching this thread with great interest.

I regularly race a worlds edition rc10 against much more modern machinery around the UK.

How can I buy one of these 4wd conversions to run alongside my 2wd? Will I be able to buy a complete conversion kit and have it shipped to the UK? I have just bought a new worlds edition rc10 to convert?

I have also been watching and waiting. I am down for all items for the conversion. Hopefully when the items are all ready for production there might be a ( one stop shop?). This will be awesome.

Is someone also producing the stretched mirage body?

I may have missed it, but how much wider is the front of the car than the rear of the car? I only recall reading nonspecific comments about the car being very wide up front but still within the rules. Most of the pictures in this thread seem to show the width difference too.

If there is a significant difference between the front and rear track widths, do you have any recommendations (or perhaps even optional parts planned) to either narrow the front or widen the rear?

I'll measure the front and rear tonight. For now I want to run the car how it is with stock rear suspension, but eventually I'll put on the wide rear arms I have that will bring the rear width out close to legal.

Well guys, sorry to say there is going to be a bit of a delay in the release of the Ten4 kit. The first big double I took it off I landed pretty hard and broke both front caster and steering blocks  I think the steering blocks are what broke first and they took the caster blocks with them. The good news though is that there is plenty of room to beef them up where they broke. I'm going to update the CAD models this morning and order parts today. Then hopefully in a couple weeks I'll have her back on the track.

This is why I wanted to abuse the car on the track before releasing it. Those parts never would have broke in a million years just blasting up and down the street.

What I can say though is that the car seemed to handle nicely and it jumped really well.

Sorry to disappoint you guys with the delay, I know a lot of you are eagerly waiting to build your own. But I want to make sure the kit can take the rigors of racing before releasing it into the wild.

In the mean time, I'm going to start making the custom nose tubes and putting together the hardware kits.

Gotta admit I would have liked to have seen a video if it was as dramatic as it sounds! Glad to see you have the fix handled

Sounds like you got time to get a feel for the handling before the crash though. I'm so glad mine isn't going to be a runner, I broken so many NIX91 parts it's not funny.

yeah, I don't want people breaking my parts.
It will be worth the wait ;)

Well you can't rush perfection...:0)
Besides, it will give us more time to get the other parts needed for the conversion

Waaaay beefed up:

Old:

New
9722-steering-blocks-v2-pair.jpg
The old ones broke on that bottom tab where it attaches to the caster block. The new ones are 50% thicker there and the bottom one, which carries most of the load, is 40% bigger around. We'll see if I can break these!

I also beefed up the caster blocks, but I think the only reason they broke was because the steering blocks did first. Doesn't hurt to make them stronger too, just to be safe.
I should have the new parts in about 2 weeks.
I may 3d Print my own in the mean time, but they will be ABS so I don't want to put too much stock into how they perform.

They need to step up their turn around time!! Waiting on printed parts drives me nuts.

Yeah, i know :-(
2 weeks is better than 3 though, which it used to routinely take
