Way wipers were replaced on Y axis earlier in the week.
I made a waterpump adapter for another client on Saturday.
That was the first real test of HSM doing something that wasn't decorative, and there were no hicoughs or sneezes on the program side.

New job starts Monday, 8:00-17:00 instead of 14:00-21:30. It's also 37 miles closer.

I'm hoping this means more time to reboot this.

On a related note, while googling my business name, I found a completed ebay listing for one of the old engineering samples. Makes me happy to see they held onto (and increased) their value!

Did a bit more CAM work last night, toolpaths for the bearing bores are now finished in HSM.

I still need to get the chamfer mill profiles sorted out, as well as the dowel holes and mounting screw holes.

No guessing on timeframe, because I don't want to miss another deadline.

Long time no update.

I just recently procured a probing system for the mill, so that's being wired in and calibrated.
That allows me to avoid the fixturing nightmares that were giving me the heebie jeebies and head scratchers before, and opens up the possibility to use the existing programs from the first run.

I have a few other jobs to flush out of the pipeline before I can look at this again, but we'll see!

Just finished initial calibration of the probe system tonight, so progress.

I have to get a CMM inspection on my setting ring to verify it's within calibration, and then I can do final probe cal.

Still have the other jobs in the pipeline, since one is waiting on the probe as well.
