Nice 3rd member how much power are you planning/making?

Diff looks good. What a shame they just hide under the car.

I'd be happy with 400 - 450hp which really isn’t a lot. At the end of the day it is a big heavy small block powered car which is never going to be "wow" without a bigger budget than mine.


At the moment the car is too tight and needs to be free'd up. It has about as much stall as you can get with a stock sized converter and the builder went too soft with the cam once the rear end is in and the exhaust in it's going to get a òigger cam and a smaller looser converter. Those should really wake it up.

Well, I haven't really updated this in quite some time. I've bought lots of little things in the meantime but the biggest thing is I've finally pretty much finished this. I just gotta get someone to make the brake lines. Looks pretty trick in the flesh, I just hope it's quiet and trouble free, lol.

well, theres a reason why so many chevy guys go with a ford 9" and trouble and noisy isn't one of those reasons

just thought I'd post up my sleeper wheel set. I'd love to put them now to see what they would look like but I'm waiting to put them on with the 9"..... so unassuming......

Speed disks

Back on the shift light when I started looking for one years ago I couldn't find a decent stand alone shift light. My electronics friend was going to make one but determined it would be too hard for the return, so that died in the water. Fast forward to now I finally found a simple (non chinese) one and modified it for an external globe.

The shift light will mount on the steering column under the dash hidden away and fully integrate into the factory gauge cluster. I just need to buy some factory looking plugs so I can plug it into the car and I can call it done.


For those that don't remember here is when I made the lens and led globe.

I thought I'd give myself the kick to get going on it again after a tough (non covid related) end to the year.....

I've installed the shift light into the factory wiring and it works flawless. Set to a conservative 5000 RPM, in second gear the speedometer reads about 80 MPH, bang third and before you know it your traveling to scary fast speeds in a big rusty wallowing 70's tin can.

I had a 2 1/2" mandrel bent straight through exhaust built for the car. You can drop a ball in one end and it would pop out the other side without getting stuck. It ended up a bit louder than I had hoped, even though it sounded good, which is bad for a sleeper, so it went back and had two resonators placed inline. Since this photo the crossover has also been moved further back to where the pipes are closest.

Overall it sounds pretty wicked, the Aerochambers are quite deep but when your on it it turns into a crisp angry sounding animal. The exaust of all things made the biggest difference so far, obviously it was struggling to exhale before, night and day difference.....

One of my friends loaned me some brake bending/flaring hardware so now the pressure is on to finish the brake lines so I can give the tools back. Playing around with them I think I'll have to buy some gear as it's not terribly expensive.

They didn't have a tube straightener and I just couldn't cope with wavy hand straightened tube...... so....... I made one !!

By the looks of it most decent ones were $160+ which is crazy, I made mine for about 25 bucks. I had no idea how well it would work or if it would even work at all, let's just say it sure surprised me !

Thanks. I made it from some pretty basic hardware stuff. Just some 20mm square tubing, a couple of bolts, nuts, washers, wing nuts, and some sliding door wheels. I thought I'd try the plastic wheels as I was in a hurry and figured if they didn’t hold up it's easy to replace them with steel rollers. So far they work great !!

Well that was fairly painful getting the lines to snake around everything without hitting anything, but we got there in the end. I'm just praying my flares dont leak

Finally just about done, I just need to replace the wheel studs then I can roll it under the car and order my drive shaft.
