That will be a very cool effect , i love the look of jeweling , I used a piece of Brass in the drill press with rubbing compound. Please post pics when you are done, looking forward to it. I alweays thought it would be cool ( or cooler ) to have the chassis brace replace the nose tubes also , just a thought ...... Nice build !

you can use the traxxas stuff for ball bearing steering for cheap....it's white plastic.
see this thread:

greebo did a great job with detail on the mods, and did what i haven't yet, cut off the lower flange to recess the bearing lower to drop the whole assembly.

Very interesting and cool stuff Jake.
I am thinking this is going to be a very unique custom RC10.

Did you make those chassis braces?
I know this guy who would love to have some made for him!

No these chassis braces are the A&L ones. I have made some for my last buggy I built.

It has been a long time since I had an update on this one.
I just got the tub back from anodizing (Thanks JHarris) and it looks fantastic. I have most everything I need to complete the build except a few minor bits. I hope to get the car assembly going soon. I still have some more machining to get done.
When it is all said and done, I think I going to place this one in the BST. I don't need another RC10 and I could use the money from this build to work on some other projects. Enjoy the pic and stay tuned for more updates soon.

Thank Miguel.
This car is going to be very nice when done. it will also have many of the same touches my other red car has.
Make no mistakes, even though this car will be super nice, it is being built to be raced.
Here are some more pics. I am working on the steering right now. I have a set of RPM ball bearing steering arms that don't quite fit. I need to mount the steering bellcranks in my mill and take some material off and they will fit like a glove.

I finally was able to get the front end completed. I finished machining the last turnbuckles out of TI. I also had to do some machining on the RPM steering to make it fit right. If this set of steering arms is rare or hard to find, spare me the complaints, I built the car with what I have and rare parts don't really get me going that much.
I had to take about 1/4 off the top of the steering parts to get everything to fit. I also machined the center link out of TI as well.
All I need to do now is buy a set of B4 CVDs, machine the rear turnbuckles, and buy some bearings for the rear hubs. I can't wait to get this car done and off the bench.
I also need to find a fiberglass RC10L chassis as well. It will be cut up to machine the tub stiffeners and a tranny brace. I am trying to stay with the white and blue theme on this one.
Enjoy the pics.
