I did see this absolute bargain ad. in Number 26, though....
P1180400.JPG
Soooooo happy things have changed! Only $3.75 for a Tamiya 1150..... at that cost, it takes $90 to ballrace a TL01!!!!
Ad is 1993, that's about the going rate for BBs. TL01 is much later
1988 was paying $7.95-9.99ea for loose 1150s from HobbyPlace.
1990 they were $4.95 at VHC... used to buy 2 every other week on Friday after school before hopping onto train at Flinders.
Come TL01 in the late 90s... Metro had loose 1150s for $3.50... and I did buy a bunch then, because somebody had mixed in pretty blue Tamiya rubbershields amongst the generics so I patiently fished out about 60-70pcs. They sold a TL01 bearing set for ~$75.

Could one of you guys that has all these mags please have a look for the issue with the Traxxas TRX3 in it (blue and yellow body).
That was my car and I'd really like that article scanned so I could read it again. All my mags got thrown out when I left home 20 years ago.
Thanks.
Hey mate, I will take a look tonight, and if I have the issue, I will scan it up. That is, if someone else doesn't beat me to it

I can't thank you enough. Just seeing it takes me straight back to that day. The car won concourse at that event. Tony Gray painted the body. Thanks again.
Is there any interest in setting up a dropbox or google drive account with scans of the old D&T magazines?
According to the National Library of Australia the Copyright status is 'unknown'. We could always pull it down if the copyright owner comes forward and objects.
3 years have passed and I'm still looking for that elusive issue 26, no word of a lie, I've been checking weekly for years online and nada..... Just over priced issues on ebay that I already have.
Got this chassis and suspension from Doug awhile back. Chassis is in awesome shape and just needs some assembly. I will be building it with a Trackmaster X-Caliber direct drive trans and some other new parts. It's a pretty trick chassis. You can...

Thanks Doug!! It's very similar to the way you had it set up with just a few tweaks and changes. The front battery box is an Andy's.
I don't know how many guys we have left around that area. But, jwscab and myself are planning to hit this track up a few times over the winter (practice, hang out). So, if you'd like to come too, post up. The more the merrier!
Here's one I found in my D&T while looking for Schumacher Daytona info, that I thought might interest you Associated fans...... from Australian Dirt and Track magazine, #26, May - June 1993.
Enjoy!

Does the tire choice change as the dampness of a track changes?
I’m looking to run a race tomorrow and it’s actually lightly raining here. I know they wet the track before races but I would expect that it would be much more damp in the morning and...

Holeshots will work on about 90% of tracks so they are a good tire to bring, they may not be the fastest tire but they work well.
The flipout is a good tire when traction is low and the holeshot doesn't have enough grip. When traction improves the...
I wanted to know if anyone had experience removing rocks from a dirt off-road track.
Our local track has been uncovered all winter causing a lot of the underlying rocks
to make their way to the surface. Last year we had access to a bobcat/rock...

You guys were so helpful with the de-rock question so I have another.

Just ordered the Castle Sidewinder SCT combo for the T4 now that I've convinced myself that I love the way it runs and handles (it just doesn't WALLOW the way the Slash 2wd does!). ITs currently running a set of knobby rears and channel fronts,...
