i would stick with that b3 and get it better, just to remind that guy one day that he was beat by a car that hasn't been made in a decade. :wink:

I'd agree with no drag brake. That creates hell on trying to get a good jump attitude. Sounds to me if you need drag brake then the car is pushing?

I'd also try upping the pinion 2 teeth at a time until the motor gets too hot, or you notice a drop in performance. upping the pinion should reduce a bit of the torque 'hit' to the tires on and off the throttle and may help the push.

the oil weight on the car seems a little too staggered to me, 25 in front, 45 in rear. What are the B4 guys running? That also agrees with you tipping the shocks in, ie more progressive. Maybe up the front to 30w or drop the rear to 40w?

I'm not a hard core racer, just throwing out some ideas I would try.

+ 1 on the no drag brake. the only time i use db is in dirt oval. db will really mess with a offroad car, sometimes people find that it really helps them but in reality it's a band aid for another problem.

heck the b3 aint that old. no reason it can't podium at the club level. every now and then i spot a t3 at the local track and it holds it's own just fine. i still run my 10t in mod truck. old rules!

get good with the b3, then get a b4 and you'll be on fire.

Thanks for the encouragement guys! Yes I felt that the drag brake really helped me with turn-in but as you said I'm probably not correcting whatever the real problem is.

I believe the 1st B4 guy ("buggy made in the last decade", haha) said he was using 30wt front and something incrementally lighter viscosity in the rear. I'll keep tweaking and see how good I can get it.

Just play around with it a bit. :lol: You'll get it working better. Besides, the newer cars don't look near as cool as the old schoolers. That was another thing I found out is how much more limited the front end is on the older cars versus the newer ones. It seems you really need the front and rear working together 110% to turn good. Will be tuned in as I'm hoping to hit a carpet off road track this winter myself, if all goes well.
