I dig that color, what brand is it? Does it come in spray cans?

Its Parma I believe called Fiery Orange Metallic or somethin similar. Its lexan spray paint from the local hobby shop. I use it along with red, brown, black and silver to paint the inside of my scalers so that when the outside color gets scratched it looks like a big rusty scratch

Kinda diggin the orange/gold paint so I think its gonna stay for a while. That said, the Scaler freak in me couldnt leave it alone and out came the sharpies for some detailing!

Just about every decal was destroyed on this body when I was removing them which is odd, but the old sharpie stash had enough silver black and red to knock out the window molding, door lines and tail lights that I accidentally painted over. The windows are crappy cause I didnt take my time to strip em entirely but I dont care, Ill either tint them, decal over them or cut them out later. The danged window stickers covered the entire window and left a film of sticky crap. Im gonna wait for the paint and marker to dry entirely before I hit em with googone. For now tho Im actually starting to get excited...she's lookin better. Now I wanna figure out what to do with the wheels/tires. I like the fat rear, skinny front look since its gonna be a sand buggy, but I might mess around with some wheels...not quite sure yet. Next step needs to be gettin it to run!

the foggy windows add to the realism, I like it. Now, what you need to do is get some scrap lexan, and scrape a flat edge across the windows a bunch of times to look like windshield wiper sweep marks 8)

Used to speckle brown paint on the windshield and scrub the wiper marks out! Fun stuff, scale details are fun. I've got paint that rusts that I add to damage on my other rigs as well which is fun too!

'sharpies' ?
I need a good way of doing some metal details, black window frames, lights, turn-lights etc. What brand are those and how do you keep straight edges?

Sharpies are a brand of permanent marker and come in basic colors. The good thing is they are not permanent on lexan and wipe away with denatured alcohol.

Is that what you used to do the light frames and other metal details?

I use a black marker for my window frames but it looks bad half of the time.
It's those damn details that make me hold back from painting up more realistic shalls like trucks and tourers.
Buggies are way easier :)

These are regular sharpies and they do rub off with alcohol or time and abuse sometimes but there are oil based sharpies that are more permanent. To get straight edges I just use masking tape on the windows and a steady hand and a fine sharpie for doors and body lines. The headlight surrounds came chrome but the rear tailights are silver and red sharpie. Its amazing what simple little details will do for just about any body!

Silver gold bronze (thank you Olympics!) And many many other awesome colors shapes and sizes available. My buddy actually makes the ink for them so I get all the new stuff when it comes up and also get custom colors if I need it!
